A young mag I've been working with (20 year old season ticket holder..so I heard him out)..he reckons they're questioning his tactics and substitutions now like..mind he reckons there's still loads of them going with 'if Rafa goes we go'...makes great viewing like.

Dont really give a shit about his tactics. I want him to keep spunking these amounts for a few more years and watch them get relegated then go bust.

Mag.

Fact is - despite the financial restrictions - Rafa is doing a fairly shite job. Like it or lump it. That is a fact.
?

Hes doing a great job, hope fat Mike gives him £200m to spend on shite that he doesnt play.

I think they are going down like. The players seem to be giving it all too, it’s a distinct lack of quality costing them. Today was just Brighton’s 3rd away win since they last got promoted. Their striking options are absolutely awful, they’d have been better off sticking with Mitrovic and Gayle.
Only the fourth occasion in the history of the English top flight that a side has lost their first 5 home games, the 3 previous sides all got relegated.

Loving that stat:lol:

I bet there's loads thinking it tbh.
Collectively its been a wash out. Nobody has done well this season. On the back of a decent season things have regressed.
The players don't look good, the tactics have been wrong in certain games, and the transfer policy and issues with the bonus sheets have all came together to bring us to this.
Doesn't look like we've got a series of wins in the team. Can't see a run of 5 or 6 games where we'd lose only one and get wins and draws in the rest.
Even if Benitez was sacked, nobody any good will come in. And even if survival is achieved, Benitez still leaves at the end of the season, and the cycle starts again. The remit of the club is solely to exist in the premier league and not over exert itself by doing well. Everything on the cheap, corners cut as much as possible and hope it pays off.
Try successive relegations and nearly going bust.
You don't know what pain is man.

It's pointless really but its everybody's aim. I loved our last 2 seasons in the championship, but winning the league is fun, but i could imagine it starts becoming tiresome if you end up like Ipswich or Derby or Leeds. Once you're in the top flight survival is the aim, which is rubbish really.
However, at least trying your best to do well, bit of ambition and hope is good.
In 2012 when we finished 5th, 6 players left the club that summer, and only Vurnon Anita came in, this to deal with the extra games a Europa League campaign would bring. Deliberate regression imo, and lowering of expectations, which result in almost being relegated. 37th game PL status was preserved.
After being 5th, having a go again was too expensive so get back to being thankful for survival and never quite good enough to go above mid table.

It starts at the top and ruins everyone. Benitez now getting like Pardew in that after a good start he's been done in by the club and just sticking it out. Pardiola was never in danger of the sack but had an 8 year deal, Benitez lucky that his deal is up at the end of the season.
Huge and contagious lack of motivation or desire throughout the club that bring everybody down eventually
A very fair and balanced view of things.
Still can't work out how you got 5th mind tho Ba and Cisse were at their leak I suppose.

Why do the keep blaming Mike? Mile has allowed Rafa to spend and they still can't beat Brighton.
Their next two games could see them get well cut adrift should they lose both and they are not easy games. Southampton away and Watford at home

I’m amazed they don’t call him out more on his decision to replace Mitrovic and Gayle with Rondon and Muto.

I’ve seen a few on social media calling him out on it to be fair. It’s no small coincidence that ever since Graham Carr has left, after Rafa wanting full control over signings, that their level of bargain signings had majorly dipped. Granted they were buying a lot from the French leagues, but the resales value from some of the players Carr had scouted, was the reason their fans were banging on about ‘Net spend’.
