Your Most Prized Bike (as a kid)

CW7

Central Defender
Got to be my old red Grifter for me. 3 gears which easily changed via the handgrips. Heavy bike, so very sturdy, nowt used to break. Canny for giving backers (obvs not as good as a chopper). Could wheelie for ages once u were strong enough to get the twat verticle.

Happy memories!

My grifter used to go into slip gear for no reason, which resulted in me flying over the handlebars once when slip gear engaged resulting in my foot slipping of the pedal and getting stuck between the top of the front wheel and the forks.

I was over the moon when I got to upgrade to a burner.

But in top gear they could annihilate bmxs for speed

Same but blue.

Erm. Choppers had signs on the seat saying NOT to give backers. Anyone flouting this rule was opening themselves up to danger.

Think we once got 6 of us on a chopper, obvs ended in disaster like. But nowt wrang with flirting with the rules!

Blue and yellow Raleigh Burner. Last seen stood upright, embedded in the bumper of my Dad's parked Austin Metro when my brakes failed coming down the bank in the rain.
