Doctor Who

I didn't think it was too bad either. Obviously everyone settling into the role and no TARDIS so it needs to get going.

Not too sure about the end, seemed to be building up for a Princess Leia moment, but we'll see.

Jodie is always going to have a tough job convincing me as Capaldi is my favourite (yes I've seen the oldies as well).

I should start by saying I thought Bradley Walsh was excellent and
he seems to be the only one with nothing to lose out of the companions now that Grace is dead.

Tosin Cole left a lot to be desired for me, he seemed really wooden and has a monotone voice.

As for Jodie, I want to like her. I'm worried though, she seems very hyper and that is exactly what I hated about Matt Smith. I'll give her more time though.

I loved the cinematography though and the new composer has done a decent job. The theme tune at the end was fantastic and as much as I loved Capaldi, his theme was horrific.

There were way too many jokes though. Humour can work but don't overkill it.

Solid if unspectacular. There were things I liked but there's a lot I'm yet to be sold upon.

I was wondering if his character has some kind of social dysfunction thing going on that makes him like that. He can't really be that shit of an actor can he?

I though JW was fine. Story was nowt special but the dead people appear to be actually dead for a change, so that's a boon.

Does dyspraxia have a mental effect? I genuinely don't know. Hopefully it'll be something that's explored later in the series.

Haway man, nobody liked Capaldi ffs. This is a wind-up, right?
Not a wind up at all. His first series is bad and I hated Clara throughout her run, but series 9 and 10 Capaldi was fantastic. He had some awful scripts to work with, but he played the character more alien than any of his modern predecessors and I liked his later character. Imo he's by far the best actor to have had the role in the new series, excluding John Hurt.

First impressions are good. The writing is better which is a blessed relief.

A lass Doctor works even if she's a geek who slightly hogs the camera. A less annoying Tennant.

I think she'll get better once the post-regeneration amnesia shtick wears off.

Bradley Walsh looks canny, the lass off Hollyoaks is good but not sure about the lad. If the idea was to find a kid more wooden than John Boyega then job done.

Not impressed by the monsters mind. Poundland Predator and some tangled cables.

I watched the first half an hour or so. I thought it was terrible.

Her voice is just annoying, can't believe she's playing it with her northern accent. She's basically playing Tennent as others said. Had to turn it off as it got on my nerves too much. Very poor.

Everything put out by the BBC is a sermon on diversity.
Why, because there are brown people in it?

You should try watching Doctors,
Why the fuck would anyone watch Doctors?

First episode I've watched since it came back thought it was canny but enjoyed my 8 year old daughters reaction to some of the "scary" bits the most
You should make her watch "The Empty Child" episode. It even gave me the creeps nevermind the bairn.

It can affect speech - my daughter's is badly affected by it and her intonation when she speaks is still slightly "off" sounding (despite paying out hundreds for speech therapy). I've not watched the episode fully yet (had it on in the background recording) - it's on my list of things to do today if I get a chance.

I liked Capaldi, adored Tennant (let's be honest here - I fancy the f***ing pants off David Tennant) and hated gurning bow tie boy to the point I stopped watching for a while.

He's by far my favourite of the modern Doctors. Let down badly by stories and writing, and let's be honest as a self confessed superfan he got too into it towards the end.

Capaldi
Eccleston
Smith
Tennant

Would be my order.

for me. Capaldi should have been the best but poor story lines and making him into a larger than life clown, ambling through space delivering a cheap gag every minute made him into the worst Doctor there has ever been.

Ah, that first series though :) When you genuinely thought he might have pushed that bloke out of the window in the first episode. When he was grumpy and a bit spiteful. I thought we were going to get a properly morally grey Doctor.
