These 32GB HD laptops

Been on the lookout for a cheap laptop for the wife, it’ll be used for Social Media and website use to promote her business and MS Office use, and possibly some Apple Music.

I can redirect all the music to an external hard disk, but is a 32GB hard disk enough to run Windows and O365 without having to constantly do housekeeping? Getting conflicting reports off the Internet, so over to the SMB!

No

Don’t bother. 64gb absolute min as long as you have a decent sized secondary drive.

With 32gb and software installed you’ll end up with not enough space to download the next big windows patch.

Check to see if the laptop comes with a m.2 slot capable of pcie and you can expand it with a lightning fast drive.

A laptop with a 32 GB HDD is hardly likely to have an M2 slot :p

The ones ive dealt with are shite. 32GB is simply not enough space for a windows 10 installation. When any updates fail, it basically stores them and you can't always get rid of the files, on a normal sized disc it isnt a problem as they do no harm but 32GB is easily filled and you have no room to manoeuvre. Avoid at all costs

If the hdd is 32gb I have to wonder how shit the rest of the specs are. Is it from the 90s?
They're brand new man!

Loads for sale with 32GB eMMC disks in. Need a small portable laptop (< 13") for the wife to hoy in her bag with a good battery life, like i say, just basic windows and office, nowt else.

We've got one and it's shite. Had to uninstall almost everything and there's still not enough space to install Windows updates.

I put one in a Lenovo Ideapad about 6 weeks back to solve the exact problem I described. Granted you wouldn’t normally expect to find one, but if you have that model you can seriously upgrade the spec.

32gb works for a while. Then windows updates cripple them.

Go for a bigger one. You can off load updates via a usb hard drive. But it’s a pain in the arse.

Just pay extra for 64gb.

is that the one that currys were selling. I think the OS and other stuff took about 10GB.

I got one for my daughter last year.

The space was not a great issue as it had a micro sd slot

think the bigger issue may be the ram capacity, especially if she is using 2 or 3 apps at the same time (bearing in mind I don't know what ram is being offered).
