Wear crossing

Didn’t read that mate but I’m going to side with the experts on this one rather than yourself
You asked, I replied.

That would be the same sort of expert as the ones who chose to demolish the old town hall and gave Sunderland its concrete town centre- short sighted councilors and town planners.

I'd hazard a guess that those town planners have retired now and it's an entirely new set of planners who have been involved with the new bridge.

I refer to the type of town planning 'experts' rather than the any specific ones. Chester, near where I live, has been blighted by the same type of experts in town planning and the same type of councilors.

You’re talking utter shite mate. Nobody in their right mind thinks that a 2 mile journey or a detour through Pennywell makes that land more accessible than it is now. Keep arguing though...I can’t be arsed with fucknuts

Tories knocked down the TH. Never been seen since IIRC.

So how the hell do you manage looking at yourself in a mirror?

Tories aren't the only idiot councilors Sunderland Council have been led by

All you have done is criticize current situation.

Positive suggestions would be more helpful. Not a glib "more intelligent councillors" response.

Just HOW do we get a better system as you are obviously unhappy with the current one?

If you mean the political system then there isn't an answer.

People vote labour because their parents voted labour and there is no other god but labour. Many Sunderland citizens also have low expectations and think as long as labour are in power on the city council then everything is alright.

No I'm not a tory or a lib dem or any other party follower. I just think that politics in Britain is broken. Party interests are paramount and what one party wants then the other parties oppose. The good of the citizens comes very low down on a politicians agenda (which is always headed by 'how do I stay in power?)

Perhaps Stewart Donald could be persuaded to take over the city as well as the club!

The Bridge is definately sinking, I've been on holiday for a week, I drove over the new bridge a week ago when I was going to the airport, the water was about 40ft below the bridge, when coming back from the the airport the water was only 30ft from the road, FFS the bridge will be underwater within a month, thanks Len for tipping us off about this.

Top of the spire is just now peaking over the water's surface.

Farewell Northern Spire.
