Sunderland Station Skins

I can remember Zone 57 (named after the T&E PTE zone that covered the SR4 area). Knew one of the members (Timmy Craggs), but didn't have owt to do with the Station Skins (or the SS as they were known as). I used to gan inside the leisure and buck the lasses instead of sitting on the steps outside wishing I could.
His name was Trevor mate not Timmy, I started Zone 57 band with Slav, pielly, Dickie Hammond (RIP) I left the group to work in London and Trev took over...

They came along too late for the punk stuff. Didn't a couple of them from Doxy get killed in a car smash on the way to Oxford. Hunter and his mate Harly???

A couple of them had reputations they couldn@t back up. Id agree with @Paddy O'Dors

I wasn't friendly with him or owt, he was a bit older than me. I did see them play in the old Feltstead/Ford Hall school though.

I was on a national express bus a few years after that and the lass selling the teas and coffee was Hunters ex. Quite ironic and Aud and hunter was written on the upstairs roof on every bus when I lived up there

To be fair they were quite harmless really, and quite a canny bunch. I did have a run in with Hunter one day (not station skins related). He didn't win. I did feel quite sad when he copped it. I was living in London at the time. He was okay really.

The first time I actually saw him was Rotherham away last game of the season. He turned up with a crowd around him, towering above everyone of them like the pied piper walking down towards the ground. He was very noticeable

Im almost certain its Hunter im thinkin of who was stabbed in leg by Clint, if it was then he was canny lad as he would stop and talk to us few times

Can remember playing spurs at home, (Vienna by ultravox was high in the charts ) loads of skins piling out of the Londonderry chasing a spurs bus down the road, all adorned in fine looking crombies and various coloured harringtons.

I remember Hunter was giving my kid sister some grief as she wouldn’t have nowt to do with him. This went on for a number of weeks. I waited for him at the bus station with a bat - nee sign of him. Sister told me a couple of days later he was deed. Was a strange night. Waiting for the last bus home and a lad came over aggressively shouting the odds. When it all calmed down it turns out I am a doppelgänger for some fucknut that lived in Easington Lane who had brayed his sister the week before. 80s Sunderland was a lot simpler time :)
