Common decency to have at least one drink i would have thought,especially after a weekend game.
 

You have to currently at Spenny. No clubhouse means tea in the pub after the game!

I’ll probably be shot down for this, but I’ve always thought tea should be after the game. 15 minutes turnaround between innings to allow for quick refreshments etc, then the food after. Promotes people staying back and generating revenue for the club over a few drinks.

Or NEPL having lunch and tea. Blaydon was famous for its massive spreads but you had to be quick before the locals came in

I played for Blaydon and have witnessed this, excellent teas! Needless to say they didn’t beat me to the table (no smart arse comments from you who know me ;-) ).

The devil is in the detail really. Not sure if the following would be worse or better:

1. Criteria for league levels
2. Does is bring more players to the game?
3. Do teams have to have 2nd teams?
4. Is there a certain level where criteria is mandatory such as 2nd teams, junior cricket?
5. How does promotion/relegation work?
6. If for example a promoted club is from the South and the relegated club from the North, where does the relegated club go to
7. Would there be enough umpires to go around? Would the top leagues get first rights of umpires or shares equally across all leagues
8. Would all divisions play to the same rules? If so, would this not put off some players. I.E. time cricket against overs cricket

In principle it sounds positive but an administration nightmare.

It sounds great in theory. But every league and club will disagree on those points.

I take your point but i've finished a game at Evenwood at 8.30 on a Sunday night before driving 45 minutes home.

It will come as no suprise to you that I would advocate local leagues based primarily on areas running their own affairs.

South North on track to win NEPL AGAIN . How many times is that now but hey the league is sooo competitive.

I haven’t been to Brandon since watching my mate who was overseas there years ago. They must be exceptional events and bar takings to make a good profit and still pay the players they are mind TVOR!

Apparently

Fire works and Brandon rocks make them big money as well as many other events

Think they got quite a bit for a telephone mast as well

Don't think anybody can begrudge them spending self generated money the facilities are top notch and they have always had junior teams

Phone masts are only about £3k a year. I would be surprised if they are completely self sufficient and grab players from South North.

I would imagine hush hush money or some very nice gardens for the players :lol:

Wrong about the mast from what I was told from a good source

They may have a secret sponsor that puts money in who knows good luck if they have they improve the facilities year on year

Good luck to them as well where ever they end up

O2 paid £3k for a mast in 2010. Other companies who piggy back the main mast pay less. Obviously this will have gone up but i suspect not that much

This figure the net amount to the club
