The stuff to make fresh mexican tortilla's, anyone know where i can get it from in the Sunderland area, and a tortilla press if possible! Got the Mexico 70 bug and want to have a bash of making some this Saturday.

I know, I know, Mumsnet this shite!

Still haven't been there yet. Bait looks tremendous.

Superb mate, pork belly taco's were superb...however they seem to have a couple of specials on at the moment and I'm itching to get down to try (kids spoiling that chance) of Lobster Taco's and Soft Shell Crab Taco's.
It's f***ing belly pork not pork belly.

Drinks are a little on the expensive side, but as we all know, it keeps the riff raff out.

Saintsbury s do it fatty. Its just finely ground corn flour.
Hasnt Masa Harina been treated differently before being ground though, with lime or something?

Will give the ground corn flour a go though mate, i'll be loading the fuckers with hot sauce anyways.

Don't bother, it doesn't work.

If you can't wait, you might be able to get some dried corn then get some lime from the garden centre and boil them up together in some water. Probably just order some off the net though.

I think Asda sell corn tortillas although they're a bit large for tacos.

Supposedly, you can get similar from grinding dry tortilla chips in a food processor until they become a fine powder. Never tried it though so not sure if it works.

You can get it from amazon next day if your on prime. Mex Grocer is good as well. Personally wouldn’t bother. You can now get tacos made from corn flour in most supermarkets.

I’ve got some and you don’t need the press. I’ve made them same as chipattis.

Mex Grocer sell tomatillos as well. There’s nowhere round here does corn flour. Trust me I’ve tried.
