MP takes on Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley over his 'exploitation' of the club

Keep it simple then - Cash went from about £2m to minus £8m, plus loans increased by £15m.

That's £25m in cash in simple terms that Benitez has spent over and above what has been generated. That's an owner backing a manager.

That is the year in the championship when tv income dropped by £40m, so the profit on transfers that summer plus the £15m loan had offset the loss substantially. Backed to regain premier league status, ergo tv money. Not backed to try and improve or do as well as possible imo.
So figures from 16/17 are not as reflective on the case of backing the manager, the windows of january 2017, January 18 and summer 18 show. Loan signings made permanent and still in profit in terms of tranfers this summer. Certainly not trying to improve or progress. Targets missed out on/not even tried for.

That £25m would be in a profit if it weren’t for this, conservatively, £30m ‘erroneous contracts’ policy though.

Plus Benitez has given Ashley the platform to earn more revenue by getting the club promoted so in my mind (maybe a bit biased) has earned the backing that is suggested.

No it wouldn't

Those wages won't have been paid you idiot, simply provided for as a provision to be paid in the future. You've shown yourself right up there, you literally have no idea what you are talking about.

The £25m is cash.

Including the wages paid out he has. You've been left with a squad of players Benitez doesn't want and can't shift because of the wages you were paying in the championship. Didn't you lose an extraordinary amount of money in your championship season?

Checked that

Tell me again how Benitez hasn't had money to spend over and above what came in
Exactly what we said would happen!

Also, nee one show Michael Martin the above

They’ve made that ‘provision’ but they haven’t put the ‘cash’ to one side to account for it?

Hiring your own PR company for £575K a year (when one of your previous MDs is on record as saying spending £200K on a PR company is frivolous) and leasing a part of land adjacent to the stadium for nearly £700K from another one of your subsidiaries isn’t being run well financially. It’s tantamount to embezzlement.

That’s without mentioning he was a currently selling Newcastle shirts at £65 which is far higher than equivalent shirts currently retailing for bigger clubs such as Liverpool and Arsenal (same manufacturer).
Well if you dingbats want to pay 65pund crack on.

Tbf fans going to the game donate massively to the food banks. That cannot be denied its a great and wholly successful iniative. If fans stopped going to games of course it will make a difference , that's blindingly obvious .
:lol: Oh dear there's no way they'll give up their Greggs pasties. If they're that conciencious they'll continue to contribute. If Rafa goes they can always say the reason they have not gone like they said they would was because they wanted to make sure the food banks stayed full

MP stirs up trouble for Ashley and NUFC and a whole thread full of SAFC fans slag her off. You couldn’t make it up!:lol::lol:
Wey haway man. The f***ing state of it. The entitled twats are twisting because Ashley won't waste millions more on their team. He's pumped in a shit load already, he's got them in a healthy financial position and has reversed the legacy of debt left by Shepherd and Hall.

I can think that West Ham would be the only other set of fans with such a feeling of delusion and entitlement that they would get an MP to bring their club up in Parliament because they're not spending 10s of millions on players

Is this a post criticising people who donate to charitable causes?

Yes, a change in policy/strategy from Ashley. A bit of ambition. Fans are fickle and if he let the shackles off a bit in terms of tranfers, or took a risk and spent before money came in every now and then to try and secure first choice targets fans would quieten down a lot. When things go well the protests relax.
This isn't new from Ashley, in 2012 after we finished 5th, with the extra European games coming up, and instead of trying to go again and have another good season, 6 players were allowed to leave from the first team pool and only one came in. Resulted in us almost being relegated, safety only confirmed at the 37th game of the season.

Definitely doesn't warrant parliamentary interference though. This is all about Onwurah
So that's it in a nutshell. Football teams have bad times ffs far far worse than Newcastle, just look at us. A small 'blip' at Newcastle and the world is ending. It's f***ing embarrassing man do you not f***ing see that ?

Is it fuck you precious twat it's about how deluded fuckers are tying anything into this assumption that the city of Newcastle is so f***ing shallow that it's heart is dependant on Ashley's 'treatment' of a football club.

Sweet. Think I’ll put my entire mortgage into this months accounts.

No need to worry about the cash.

You really don't understand it do you? The wages thing is called a "provision" which is putting it in as an amount owed in the future. The cash and loans are facts.

You're throwing accusations about at an owner when you don't even understand the basics.

Why are you embarrassed by it?

I'm not embarrassed by the behaviour of other people, but I think being so reactionary and living in only peaks or troughs doesn't help.
However, this behaviour under Ashley's ownership of always doing just enough, the bare minimum to get by is counter productive. Always gambling on 'just enough' paying off.
