Foggy, never underestimate the power that is the SMB forum . BTW the next old ungrateful get who hogs one of the electric lazy boys..... you just go open a dressing pack when the nurse turns her back fish out the scalpel and chop off his ear ;) Anyway I'll leave you with this and hope it manages to dampen the day after effects of Metal Mickey’s poison pump .....

K BILLYS SUPER SOUNDS OF THE 70s

Stay Strong, look after yourself and keep batting marra

Incredible read again Foggy. You have an amazing talent to relay and give an insight into what you're going through. If anyone can kick this in the nuts, then you can. Keep fighting the bastard.

Sky report. Weather not signings.

Light blue. Few wisps and plane trails. Hotty hot hot
Beautiful. Window open, feel the heat, listen to the birds, follow the planes across the sky.

Download a copy of FlightRadar app on your phone. It's ace tracking the planes flying over to see where they've come from and where they're headed.

Not so good if you're right on a major flightpath like, I guess, but for us we only get the odd plane flying over so it's interesting

Here's me, the wife & bairn tracking a Ryanair flight coming in from Tenerife to Brum

Carol is more about the nice accent and when I was on my travels with work, she never let me down with her just being thereness.

Keawyweds - crack on, I forgot your mention too sorry, you're one the stalwarts. And niceonemarra. I must stop, wish I hadn't started, I'll have some huffy kids to appease.

@Gene Hunt. The insurance is like I said, Legal and General want a time limit of 12 months to die, from the oncologist. This is guaranteed if I stop chemo but my chemo is working to stall things (and obviously I would take this option every day of the year). They haven't turned me down yet but I'm not holding out much hope. It's to save anyway - after a little bit of things to pay off - for the bairn. There are 12 years left on it so statistically they will have it to deal with one day anyway. The only difference is the premiums which are next to nowt as I was a healthy safe bet when taking it out.

Take out insurance while you're a good bet, especially the younger ones, one of us re immortal and get it while it's cheap.
Not enough people heeding this advice. I can sort them all out too! ;)

I don't know if your daughter reads these but I would say get them printed... put them in an envelope and its something she would always be able to treasure having it wrote down how much you love her.

well filled up at work here now I'[ve finally got round to reading it all.

Edit - some bugger already mentioned it

It's hayfever.. Well that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

FFS Foggy lad. As a big rufty tufty Armed Forces type (Best in the World!) I have just had to explain to my Boss who just walked in why I have tears rolling down my face! Keep fighting it mate, your words really are inspirational, I don't think i would ever be that strong.

Thinking about it, mine was with my mortgage which may make a difference. It was pretty much instant payout. Also just had to tick the box of being severe enough to potentially kill me, which thankfully it didn't manage to do so this time.

@foggy lad, you leave me lost for words....
I really relish reading your posts, bittersweet at the subject matter.

(Although, I'm sorry to say I cannit bliddy stand Carol)

The birds are in full voice. It sounds amazing but they’re probably saying how thirsty they are in bird speak. I’ll take a drink out.

I look out to a good clump of trees just across the bumpy road. The day sounds are different to night with one particular screech I would love to know what it is. It’s not all as easy as a peewit getting named after its sound, it’s not a screech owl before someone says.

Is there a Shazam for birdnoise? I’ve had a quick look but no good.

I’m under the flight path to Ponteland. It’s not busy, we only have one 777, the midday Dubai.

The routes change a bit to keep it a bit interesting but on days like today I can see the Dreamliners and whatnot further up. I’ve got Flightradar24, it’s a bit off putting when it shows the bairn’s flight overrunning the runway and into the trees before sorting itself out. The first time wasn’t fun...

The sky. There are less wispy bits. They must have been burned off so proper blue now.

I’ll be out later to water the plants again. Is two ok in a day when it’s a sizzler? Dunno I’m a novice at this.

I use BirdSongID. You record a 30 second sample and it comes back with what it thinks the bird is.

Watering you’re actually better off soaking them once every couple of days, preferably on an evening, than regular little top ups.

to be fair I prefer the rambling when you are off your head ;)

You need to change your username. Nothing unclear in your posts, just an unambiguous lucidity about what's important in life.
By christ, you have a way with words.

We are all with you Foggy even though you keep making grown men and women well up.
Sunderland had us in tears last season now you.
Your writing is very Hazeyesque and I think that over the many years I have been on this board that is the best post, it must have been to keep me reading till the end!
Truth is we are all on a one way ticket and so should make little as possible of our problems and the most of family, friends and all that is good in life - easy to say I know.
I am in my 60’s and you start to contemplate how to make the most of your remaining life, trouble is it passes more quickly the older you get. From your words it is obvious you are a good dad and the world is a better place with you in it, so chin up get stuck in and you just never know.
After all supporting the lads must get you some brownie points.
