Scores of 400+ are dull as owt to watch imo.

Far better seeing a team score 230-280 where boundaries go back to having a rarity value and the bowlers can show their skills.

Will the ICC bother going back to one ball, lesser fielding restrictions though?

Aussies did score 240 odd and were simply outclassed

We also beat them chasing 215

Imo, England bowlers showed their skill in this game.

Absolutely fantastic and I cant be having this classed as "dull"

It's a golden era of an England odi team. I would wager not one fan in attendance would say today was dull.

One last thing as for boundaries. These shots by England are not creeping over the line.

They would go over a boundary of 100m both on the ground and in the air.

The thing that needs to change is that the whole field should be used, not bringing the rope in 10-15 yards. Then, as happened a lot today, if the ball flies into the stand or easily for 4, that's fine. Today, a poor Australian side were totally outclassed by a superb English batting side.

Dull as out?? Are you for real? We’ve just beaten the world record and you are moaning. Get a grip

Things is trunders these shots would be over a boundary at the old MCG.

Our bowlers found ways to restrict and get them out.

I'm referring to a 400+ game in general. Listening to TMS later on a few thought the same.

I thought the last World Cup was shite as the scores got stupid.

Give the bowlers a chance again ICC.
We bowled Australia out for 240. Same pitch.

We also beat them in a low scoring game at the oval.

If Australia were battering 400, those same TMS would be lauding the Australian team and saying that's what England should aspire to be.

Let's enjoy this England odi team while it lasts

If 400+ becomes the norm then maybe, but there are just as many 250-275 games as there are 350+. Also, I;'d suggest the bowlers need to find a way to adapt, change their approach and see what can be done. Even today, when the Aussies started bowling wide yorkers we struggled.. If the pitch is flat and the bats wide, then find a different way. Do what the batsmen doesn't want you to do. That's why cricket is the best game in the world

I think you miss the wider point mate, it's a great England team but 15 years ago the great teams were winning 320 vs 220 which was far better to watch. .

Also the Aussies scored 240 cos they were chasing a mad rate imo, not because the conditions weren't ridiculously loaded in favour of the batters.

These 400s are only at Trent bridge by England

I can't agree, that's just as it is. For me we can score whatever is necessary, low scores on dodgy pitches and defend it. High scores chasing and setting.

For me I'm not interested if the overseas teams and fans dislike it, we have had to suffer for donkeys years and now we have a team to be feared.

Could not be more entertaining than how we have performed home and away in the period since the last world cup.

We were then as Australia are now, did you feel that we should aspire to have been like New Zealand and Australia then?

If so, we have now bypassed them. It's brilliant imo

How about having a go on uncovered wickets :)
Get back to your Werther's and ovaltineys :D

100% this!

If test Cricket is a bowlers game and t20 is a batsmans game then One Day Cricket needs to be an even contest. Time to seriously reform fielding rules IMO.

Did you see today? The field would have needed to be 200m in width and depth, to prevent some of the boundaries today.

T20 has brought more spinners into the game, that's shown by the top wicket takers in that format.

Why call for changes when for once England look to have every base covered and others need to improve to catch them?

Not for me, we are playing a level which others would aspire to be

Long overdue and may it continue

The ball(s) barely deviated off straight and the bowlers have hardly any boundary riders at times.

Just not cricket imo.
