Weight loss 2018

Bit of a late start for me. Someone took a picture if me at Christmas and I didn't see it till February and I felt physically sick.

121kg in February

Started a boot camp type thing mid February but lost interest in the food as it's all just about meat and veg.

Got down to 117kg and I can feel a massive difference and can feel ive got bigger muscle.

Bootcamp is finished next week then I'm starting training for the Great North run. Ive had a bit of success with a low calorie diet in the past so once my GNR training is underway I'm gonna do that.

I'd love to be under 100kg by the time the run comes around but time will tell.

Well done you have made a good start - keep up the good work.

Stuck on same weight but 34 waist trousers fit fine. Got rid of about 7 pairs of jeans today 36 & 38 waist as weight seems to be constant although been off diet for 8 days. Going back on tomorrow so see how it goes, not been able to walk as much due to infection coming back in lungs and affecting breathing big style. Hey Ho, Hospital Tuesday for CT scan and then looking to start treatment to zap the different infection, pesky buggers are in both lungs.

Just seen this. Hope all went well on Tuesday that doesn't sound nice at all.

I re-done a fitness test on Monday and improved on everything I done 5 weeks ago. Typically my asthma was giving me trouble for the first time in a while or could ha1ve probably done better.

Hopefully I can keep with my plan of starting training next week cos I'll be gutted to lose any fitness I've gained.

Glad you improved on your fitness test well done. Hope you manage to get training all right next week.

Update on me.

In Surgical Day Ward on two dates, on 10th April for fluid to be taken off by aspiration from left lung. Back in on 12th April for fibre bronchoscopy (Camera) and biopsy both lungs. Results on 17th April and review to start on more meds as have 2 different infections 1 in each lung. Pic Line in arm and on antibiotics for left lung infection for another week, done this for a week already. 3 sputum tests positive of M abscessus (infection) right lung over Dec to Mar, but still waiting for sensitivity results (which identify specific stain of infection) to get me started on cocktail of antibiotics for potentially 24 months to ensure get the right meds for the job.

But still here and fighting on. Put 4 lbs on (which I am pissed off about) because diet went out of the window and was also unable to walk far. Did manage a walk today so hoping to get back on diet tomorrow, get positive and piss depression off need to lose 1 stone and 2 lbs now before it was 12 lbs. Oh well, will get there.

Anyhow keep going marra, keep on top of the asthma as problems with the breathing really mess you up. Post on here for support it does keep you going, knowing your not alone in your struggles with whatever.

Just started following this thread. As I posted in the losing a stone and a half thread, I’m aiming to lose a stone and a half by the summer (from 15st4 to 13st10, which is what I was last summer before work got so stressful I started comfort eating)

Week 1 gone, 2 days weights (3rd day cancelled because SAFC were on the telly), 2 days 2 mile (to increase over the coming weeks) run, weekend rest. Lost 4lbs.

Just started back in the wagon last week and lost 3.5lb this week so far. Happy with that. Aiming for 1-2lb a week following calorie counting on Fitbit and MFP and Richie’s macros loosely.

Are we doing a spreadsheet or owt this time?

Posters coming on here to update....it was mooted way earlier in the thread something might be started but nothing since then that I have seen. Support on here is reasonable good and it helps.

Back on the diet again after falling off..... put 9 lbs on in 2 weeks went to 13 stone 7 lbs. (Greedy git) Glad to say back to 13 stone when weighed myself this morning, 2 lbs to lose and back to where I was a fortnight ago. Finally got my head on straight again and feel optimistic and positive to lose some more weight. Time will tell as so hard, especially when you go through phases of being unwell and pissed off. That is when I tend to fall off the horse and comfort eat........yom yom yom.

Hopefully will not fall off for a while or never.

How weird, went for new trousers last weekend 34 inch waist, changing room full so thought well, I know I am a 34, as recently bought new jeans, chinos and dress trousers and all fit OK. Got home tried them on would not fasten, held them against some 34 in waist trousers and not the same size inch to inch or more short LOL. Took them back and swapped for 36 inch waist which fit fine and when held against other 34 inch waist trousers (at home) they are the same size ?

Sales lady told me it's probably because they are slim fitting, that made me laugh as although in 34 inch waist still not exactly sylph looking just yet.........say I am at the cuddly stage at the moment, down from Obese, down from fat and now at pleasantly plump. Lady also explained to me that ladies go through this all the time, and that the same lady can be an 8 a 10 or even a 12 depending on makers and ranges. That is extremely bad shit that, could give a person not just a head ache but a complex.

Surely the size should be what it says on the label and not some made up shit? Ah well, just happy in a 34 waist down from a 40 waist, just have to lose the cuddly, happy with 34 inch waist.

Doing OK myself, took a break from the diet through March after completing my c25k. Keep my 3 weekly runs of 5k each, stopped a bit of the weight training and bike riding but not completely, did those when I could manage to ride outside, not often through March though, April will change that.

Also commenced drink after not drinking all year, been a bit messy all of 3 times, had a mate over from the UK so ate way to much and I knew this would happen so it was factored in for a training/diet rest through March. Glad I did it TBF, ate stuff that was off limits and which I missed while on my diet. Now that is out of the way its back to another 3 months of strict workouts and diet, though I will be drinking it will be limited.

Now doing the 10k version of the c25k and personally for me I feel great, have a lot more energy, look great (I always have ;) but other have now mentioned it), I've no idea how much I've lose weight wise, but I feel it and can see it. I got a new hole punch for my belts as I had run out of holes, shirts are hanging off me as are everything in my wardrobe so thats me splashing the cash for a new one just in time for summer.

So what am I say? Keep it going folks, it can be done, take a break from the diet, eat something you miss so that your strict diet doesn't bore you out so you fail, change your training routine so your body can have a break and doesn't get to used to doing the same thing and you plateau. Keep yourself going and be good with small gains as well as the big ones

Update on me - fluid taken off Tuesday from left lung and camera down throat done today and fluid (saline) flush and drain completed and samples taken from both lungs and whatever else done while in there (told may have some bleeding over next 24 hours) in sputum brought up......Anyhow worst over with (I hope) now at home recovering. Back for results 17th April. Now can concentrate on the diet, breathing much better but advised signs of fluid returning (emptied today) so will consider draining every 3 month or so. I am up for that after as 48 hours the breathing is so much better, my left lung is partly deflated and will not fully inflate due to pneumonia and pleurisy damage Consultant believes as hardening of the lung wall.

Happy to go in for a drain every once or more in a while if breathing is better as a result of the fluid being drained off.

I was 14 stone 9 last week, the heaviest I've been! 6 foot tall, I want to be nearer 13 stone.

Started on Saturday home made veg broth and a salad. Packed in sarnies for work, having salad, cutting back on chocolate and eating a bit healthier for tea too (cook from fresh every night anyway so wasn't too bad). No beer this week either. I need to at least walk the dog a couple of times a week, I'm going not great on the pins and it's not my job!

Weighed 14st 3 this morning so a canny start :) Under 14 stone by next weekend is the target but I'll be supping at the match tomorrow.

God it has been a struggle after such a quick start.

I had 3 decent nights out in a week largely revolving around the match so I was back up to 14 and a half stone. Haven't had the dog out, laziness after work and cooking tea. Hopefully the lighter nights will get me off the settee.

Anyway still eating healthy at work and trying at home too. Bar the odd beer with a home made curry been pretty good. Weighed in this morning at 14st 2lb.

Love to break back under 14 stone this time next week...

13.9 today.

Started eating twice as much this week and still lost 3 pounds.

I was one of the ‘ if I eat more calories, fats etc I’ll put on weight ‘.

Never ever thought I’d get this light and lean!

Well done good to see.

You will get there fella, odd fall off the wagon is to be expected and loss will slow down as loss initially mostly fluid. You will get there, just keep going. I just think if other can do so can I and I am sure everyone falls off the healthy eating occasionally.

I'm back on it again after a bit of a stop-start March and then week holiday in April. I'm not necessarily trying to lose weight (I'm 10st 11 at the moment, having been 11st 3 this time last week) but rather lose fat. I've started doing time-restricted eating which has been great for my weight management, but also I've had way more energy as a result of doing it. Going to spend the rest of this month sober and stick with the TRE whilst doing kickboxing, weights and conditioning classes.

Keep at it mate. Persistence is key, doesn't matter if you do something for a few weeks if you stop it soon the difference will be minimal.

Find a way to completely change your lifestyle to suit being healthier. Learn to cook, enjoy messing around with new recipies. Play around with your macros, change things around regularly but most importantly always give yourself foods which you can enjoy, if you are eating rabbit food 7 days a week sooner or later your mind is going to drive you into absolutely smashing 10'000s of calories worth of shite in.

Best of luck mate.

Cheers, I didn't keep going, i think I am too heavy to run but I am starting to cycle to work last week i tried twice and had major problems with my bike one which involved me walking best part of 6 miles while pushing my bike home. hopefully cycling will build up my stamina while i lose a bit weight and can get started on my running properly end of may.

Eating is ridiculously hard for me i have no willpower what so ever when i get hungry but I am sure ill get there eventually.

Had been off diet and put on 6 pounds over 6 weeks (greedy git) started eating healthier 2 weeks ago and doing some training.

Back to 13 stone, reducing steroids now over time will be on 12.5 mg for a long time. Immunisation Tablets now 6 a day am and pm. Hospital for lung pre Op check Tuesday.... due in next 2 ir 3 weeks.

So trying to get fit before Op all going well only in for surgery over 2 days....last time was 6 days when it went wrong for a while.

Hopefully will not lose fitness gained....or put weight on. 6 week recovery time minimum.....fingers crossed.
