I think the reason why we seem to have a larger workforce than most other clubs is that matchday workers are employed by the club. Other clubs use companies that provide the staff and this will only show as an expense.

Probably means we're costing ourselves an arm and a leg in... workers rights?

Let's not go down the agency worker route - it's a way of shifting risk onto workers.

The numbers I've quoted all exclude matchday staff. There were 645 part-time and matchday staff in addition to the 293 full timers quoted.

I find the fact that people are pleased someone has lost their job because they are a mag pathetic. Some of the best people who have and do work at Sunderland are mags, Bob Stokoe, Peter Walker ex FD and CEO (top bloke and if he had stayed instead of Margaret Byrne, a Sunderland fan, we might not be in this shit) and a couple of other, one of which worked for me when I was there and still does and has contributed massively to the club. If people are good at their job and are willing to commit and contribute to progressing my club I don't give a shit who they support.
He wasn't good at his job though that's why hes sacked, have a good look at our recruitment lately and you should see.

You don't need 300+ staff at a league 1 club. They'll be doing it to cost cut and because we have too many staff. I'm interested in how they know who to cut though and who not to. They must be listening to someone with regards to who supposedly isn't pulling their weight

I've seen people like Methven operating, like the Roman army mate, they can smell any bullshit before anyone else has taken a breath.

I have this picture in my mind of Stewart and Charlie walking thru the corridors with people diving out the way to avoid being pointed at and told to "fuck off immediately"
This! I personally couldn't give a monkey's chuff who this bloke supports but if he is doing a shit job or is surplus to requirements then it's bye bye.

Can't say what he does as it would give him away as he still works at the club and as I said he worked for me when I was at the club.

Most of the staff are Mags, it wouldn't happen the other way round.

Rubbish I know a few people who have and do work at NUFC who are Sunderland fans in fact I know a couple of people on the non football side who went from SAFC to work for NUFC and the other way round

Another who stole a living. He got binned the other day didn't he? I have known a couple who were interviewed by him and his philosophy on football was embarrassing to say the least. Another one off the gravy train.

Great to see.

I notice that anyone who is doing a job that you don't rate is on "the gravy train"

How does this work? How do you get on the gravy train?

How many people aren't doing a shit job tbh?

If an idiot is recruiting you'll end up with more idiots because they want people like themselves.

There's a lethargy inside the club that needs rooting out .... Di Canio knew it on day 1, just didn't know how to deal with it.

That's the 'rotten core' at the club, executives and managers earning huge salaries and producing nothing in return. We've needed a mass clear-out of all those hangers-on for years and thank the lord it's finally happening.

How long has this bloke been chief scout like? Clutching at straws here like

3 posts on this thread and each one designed to start an argument and disrupt the thread.

Just as you did on the Jack Ross and Monaco threads.
