Try telling HMRC that. Oh.

There's a strange pattern with the Mags way of thinking.

It's as if the owner/chairman/CEO are actually nothing to do with 'their' club.

A common philosophy seems to be that Ashley is simply interfering in the affairs of Newcastle United.

It doesn't seem to click that he actually owns their club lock, stock & two smoking phone boxes and, in that respect, is Newcastle United.

Until he can find a buyer they'll have to accept that.

We knew Short was in total control and had to grit our teeth with what he was doing to the club.

:D imagine thinking he isn’t!

It doesn't matter one way or the other .... the new owners have agreed a deal they're happy with haven't they?

No one made them buy the club and Short has done nothing untoward.

I’m sure the new owners are delighted.

I’m not.

No one is running a charity here, remember that.

I had a good laugh in the first reply to the OPs post :D

Imagine laughing at a premier league team when you’re in league 1!
I do it all the time, it's quite liberating. You should try it sometime. The day I have to consider whom or what I laugh at will be the day I shuffle off this mortal coil.

Aye, but the truth is the Mags are going down the route we went in the Premiership.

Look at that f***ing wage bill - what the fuck have they got to show for it?! Who could they peddle for money?? Might get a bit for Shelvey and Lascelles - who else?

They are a couple of bad managerial decisions from EXACTLY the position we found ourselves in - loads of shit, overpaid players that nobody wants. If Ashley pulls the plug - and you can bet your bottom dollar, he'd like to - what happens?

They're in the Prem now but as we show, it can take years to reap the consequences from horrific financial decisions. They have not done it the Burnley way - and I wouldn't get too complacent if I were them.

It's a miracle we can now move forward. Whatever else you say about Short, very few owners would take the consequences for his own decisions as personally as him. He has taken a massive hit - would Ashley, or anyone else, do the same?
He already has...

We would of been nowhere near the championship if it wasn't for Ashley in the first place
Yeah, you’re right...you f*cking idiot

We’d be either bankrupt or in league 2

Edit:
Just noticed that you are a reserve...at least you are useful for proving that the ignore function works

I thought for a minute I was on the scum message board the mods should ban them.
Along with those who start or reply to NUFC threads...?

Ashley took over a team who in the 10 years beforehand had been a pretty regular top 4/6 / midtable team. With one of the highest turnovers in Europe.

Then in his 10 years managed to oversee 2 relegations and turnover slashed.

We wouldn't even compete with the likes of Swansea and Southampton for players in 2013/14 not long before we went down.

Not to mention the countless amount of feeble early cup exits due to him wanting nothing to do with a cup run.

Newcastle united pre Ashley were a regular in European football. He has taken us backwards massively. Just because he would be a hero if he had done what he had done for us for Sunderland, doesn't mean he is to Newcastle. Different standards.

European football every other season and no danger of relegation, to one season in Europe and 2 (nearly 3) relegations in the 10 years with Ashley.

How has Ashley taken a massive hit exactly? He's shelled out approx £300m, but the club is worth £400m by his own valuation.
Plus there's the 10 years of free advertising ShiteDirect have had and all the NUFC merchandise in that period.......doesn't look likes he's out of pocket to me.
He took the hit when he bought the club, due to the failure of his due diligence.

He has to maintain PL status to give his main business an advertising platform (as you say...) so he takes a hit on one company to make a higher profit with the other.

Remember that John Hall committed no more in total than 3 million of his own money, which took back out as soon as possible.
