Whether he goes to West Ham or not the reports from the likes of Caulkin don’t look like there has been much progress in the talks with Ashley.
If he doesn’t go, but refuses to sign a new contract he might not even be able to spend his net spend. Players might be reluctant to sign if they think he’s going to be away

I’m not so sure that statement is positive, everyone knows he has a watertight contract. It could also be a, well we did our best to keep him sort of statement.
nothing from Rafa to put the rumour to rest.
 
I was unfortunate enough to be at their game at the weekend, if he goes there will be mass hysteria on Tyneside they go on like he’s the second coming of Jesus. Bedsheets, fake funerals the lot if he fucks off over the summer.
