Oh and it has no toilets, is this a sarcastic post or did you genuinely not know this?
I didn't know about the bogs.

not really sure what people expect to be honest.
there isn't a weekday train that gets you into London before 9am. thats my only gripe.
What's wrong with the station? Pubs near, bait places near, bogs, seats, screens. Am I missing summit?
not sure how they would electrify it when heavy rail trains are AC and the metro is DC iircIt’s frustrating that when parts of the north get ready for HS2 that there is no sign of electrification of the Sunderland and Hartlepool line, that would make a big difference to times.
It's the bit inbetween that matters. It's visitors first and last impression of the city.
6.45am, 8.45am, 12.30pm, 3.30pm and 5.30pm - doesn't really get any more convenient than that to be honest mate.
This is of course only in anticipation of the rise in passenger numbers following the construction of the new station at Horden.
Kings Cross, until very recently, was an absolute shit tip. So I'm not sure I'd agree with you thereIt's visitors first and last impression of the city.
And yet we can't get to Durham
Tyne and Wear council built houses on the track, didn't they?We need to get a rail connection with Durham back on

Good. I'm a big fan of GC.

It’s very reliable, I use it every week. They have to be as they’re on a fully commercial modelThey should probably focus on making the service reliable first, ever since they got these 'new' trains in they seem to be cancelling services every day due to faults. Much prefer using GC to Virgin but I actually want my train to run so have stayed away from them recently

As a fairly regular user of the trains from the NE to that London for the last couple of years I'd always preferred GC until recently.....constant delays/cancellations since the new year (they've been acquired by Arriva haven't they? Don't know if that's why)
What's with the overhead shelving on their trains now anarl?! (they took their much roomier old HSTs out of service around xmas iirc) Can barely even fit a child sized backpack on it, nightmare if you have a big bag/case on a busy service and the racks & room between the seats are filled up.
