I don't think anyone has ever said we are forced.
If we had no free will we probably wouldn't be here because most Mags would consider it a waste of our free time. But as we have free will some of us do, some because they like to have a bit debate, some because they like to have an argument, I dare say some just to take the piss out of you and no doubt other assorted reasons as well.

Top half finish for a newly promoted team is pretty good. I think most of us can admit that. However come next season they are straight back into a relegation battle

Don't worry about it, starting threads about NUFC and related topics is pretty common.

To answer your question, it's deemed a successful season because the goal at the start of the season was to survive. We survived and achieved that goal and even scraped into the top half.
As the word successful means to accomplish a desired aim or result it would be fair to say our season was a success.
last season would also be considered a success for us.

Answering the question - NUFC have maximised their expectations given the parameters Rafa worked to

The point of winning nowt for 60 years etc is valid of course, however there was the little matter of numerous European campaigns etc but still won nowt!

Despite what you think 99% of fans of NUFC expect to win nothing, what we want though is a team that tries, this current team fits that bill

I’m not saying players of SAFC don’t try (Rodwell apart), but seeing you dismantle Wolves with ease in last match the future of SAFC has to lie with what comes through the academy, and recently some good players have come through !

In which case you make a very poor job of it .... unless 'taking the piss' means getting rinsed time after time and embarrassing yourselves.

'A bit of free time' ffs, you can't stay off here yet you make out you're fitting in a bit of posting into your wonderfully full and contented lives.

All this bollocks about foreign travel, fine cigars and a love of great literary is laughable.

If you were posting something original, witty or informative it might just be worthwhile ....
