It was, I notice Rahul wasn't getting hammered for slowing down when the slow bowlers came on (admittedly he accelerated again at the end but still had a lower strike rate than Buttler)

Since Buttler moved up the order he's played well. Jofra Archer (not sure if he has qualified for England yet) bowled well. Hales had a couple of decent scores, that's it.

Stokes didn't look right in New Zealand, I wonder if his back injury is more serious than letting on. So not surprised he is having a poor year.

I always think if he is struggling, just let him open the batting, might just free him up. He is probably coming in during the middle overs against spin, which I doubt is helping him start well.
