Xiaomi phones

I've looked at that and it confused me too. I think the magic phrase is "band 20" which that one apparently has

Which network are you with. I'm with EE and a google shows there should be no issues
Three. It seems like it's fine. The gearbest site explains it much better.

Very tempted to buy that phone. Cracking price.

Oukitel K3 5.5'' Dual Front & Rear Cameras 4GB RAM 64GB ROM MT6750T 6000mAh Battery 4G Smartphone
We're running this one on EE and Giff Gaff (O2) no problems.

Only ever used the above networks, but no problems.

Can't vouch for 3 or Voda though.

Edit > On above link there's a follow up link to check network compatible.

Have you bought from that site before? Good prices.

Here's the network check link for folks ease of use:

WillMyPhoneWork.net - Check if your phone works on a network

I've gone for that one - £138 with code Chkout5

Worst case scenario I can sell on Ebay for a similar price as people will pay for one that is already in UK

Thanks all for your help
Where did you get that code? I'm gonna buy it if I can use that, thank you.

Glad to hear I wasn’t the only one with this problem. Recently got a Xiomi fitness watch off there, and unbeknownst to me at the time, I was ordering just before Chinese New Year. It took 8 weeks to arrive, and I’d practically forgotten about it. Still, at those prices the wait is almost worth it.

I order some items before Xmas and they took about a month to arrive going over land China to Russia to Belarus to Poland to Germany to Holland and than finally to the UK. That is the only bad experience I have had with gearbest

it will have nfc mate
its google that won't allow the Chinese manufacturers access to Google pay, they say... because of security reasons !??!?!?!
nah it physically hasn't got the nfc chip

ive had Vodafone and ee at the same time in that phone, no issues, my Vodafone contract was shit but I had ages to run and wanted my number so I just bought an ee sim card aswell, Vodafone for calls and texts and ee purely for data. Its great having dual sim like, now I have a cheap ID sim for£3.99 for calls and a 30gb data only sim with EE for £15, works out at less than £20

Wrong way round, China has blocked Google as Google refused to censor search results and limit apps based on the request from the Chinese government - any phones for the Chinese market won't have google play on as you can't access it without a VPN. Once you have it in the right area you can normally install it - done it with a few phones usually when I am in Taiwan or the UK.

mi a1 doesn't have the chip mate

ah right, sorry mate
fair enough ;)

knew it was some sort of blocking job ha
my mi mix (2 now as it has arrived) has a vpn in the settings as part of the stock software, if I turn it on, will google pay work then mate ?

I don't know to be honest, I guess it should. Worth a try anyway nothing to lose. Everyone in China uses Alipay or Wechat pay anyway (12.7 trillion dollars in 9 months in 2017) so I have never actually tried to use Google Pay

I've got the honor 9, had it about 9 months. Great phone, far better than my work S7.

You can get them for about £200 new on ebay.

They've recently launched the 9 lite. No Idea about that?

I've got a Cubot X18 and it's mint. £120, massive (replaceable) battery, dual sim, good design. Surely the days of £900 iPhones and Galaxies are coming to an end?
