They are horrible. One of the biggest issues is when systems haven't been used as intended, fields used to record data they aren't meant to. Over the years people 'make systems work' rather than pay to get them updated to do what they want. Once they move the data to a new system it all goes tits up.
Developers will be blaming testers for not finding the issues, testers will be complaining they weren't given enough time, contractors will have moved on without any accountability, senior managers who will have ultimately made the call to put the changes in will deny any responsibility. Nature of the business unfortunately.
This sounds about right. Move them on, blame them and then carry on.

What gets me is that there seems to be zero management of this risk, with a fairly poor reaction. Appreciate things go wrong during migrations, but these people will be on big money and shouldn't be making mistakes on this scale surely?

Had no problems at all.
Well you mustn't have used the app yesterday afternoon onwards as they took it down completely. I'm still having issues, can log on then get a message saying somethings gone wrong! Mind just used Apple Pay on my phone and it went through no bother.

Project managers saying we are where we are, suits looking solemn round the big table, the gaffer asking nothing but when when when, greasy nerds with long curly hair and table ornaments working furiously on lines of code fixing one thing and breaking three others, everyone on at least a grand per day...

:lol::lol: - while the rest of the team say...."we said we weren't ready". I'd love to be a fly on the wall.

This whole culture of contractors for projects is ridiculous and is a massive waste in these companies. They bring some idiot in on huge money because they have some project certificate and then a few years later have to bring in new contractors on even more money..........It's never ending and all in the name of cost cutting, doesn't work at all.

I've just managed to get on for the first time since Friday.

It hasn't affected me as I phone banking + a spreadsheet that shows me what's coming out on what days etc... Nerd alert!!!!

still not working for me. doesn't accept the password to confirm a transfer which I just used to log in ffs.

the CEO is on R5 live at 7.30. hope he gets some shit. utter shambles.

I only signed up with these a few weeks ago anarl, to get the 3% interest & free £10 a month. Doesnt affect me too much as have a number of other current accounts with other banks & building societies.

With stuff like this & ATM's eating cards (saw some charver getting irate at an ATM the other day cos he'd lost his card, and had no way of accessing cash as it was after 5.30pm) i'll never understand why some people only have the single account with a single company.

This for me too. I can log on no bother and see my accounts but when I try to make a payment or transfer it tells me my password doesn't have enough characters, even though it let me log on with it

Can't even get as far as logging in at the moment, just the 'Oops, something's wrong' message.

Laughable to think their original message was that internet and mobile banking would be down from 9am Saturday to 6pm Sunday for a transition as huge as this. Surely foresight suggested they roll this out over a week or so and give all customers a prior explanation and a few quid for the inconvenience?

I don't think that's really feasible either from a commercial sense or a practical one. They could have given themselves a little more breathing space by doing it over a bank holiday weekend though.
Even if you did it over a week, there would still be issues when it went live, just maybe not of this magnitude.

Must be a f***ing awful job mind.

We've got some relatively simple databases that are about 25 years old & in desperate need of an overhaul. No-one wants to go anywhere near them as you know it's going to end in disaster lol.

I can get on but there are transactions missing from my account.

It is a joint account so we both pay a big chunk in monthly, the payments aren't showing but the balance looks to be correct.
