I like the mutual obsession it creates the intense rivalry.
You dish it out and you are going to get it back and works both ways for sure.
Sunderland and Newcastle get it. It is the derby and not confused with Boro, Hartlepool, Darlo or anyone.
The statement, Just be careful what you wish for is the one that you need to remind yourself of as football fortunes change in a flash.
For those who keep on saying Newcastle are obsessed with Sunderland. They are.
My hatred of Oxford equals that and I whilst I get it many Swindon fans don’t.
The intensity of football comes from all of this.

What’s the story with oxford mate ? Is it just geographically closest or is there any historical issues ?

Geographical Mate. However any excuse is made to raise the intensity.
I do believe there was some history over strikes in the car industry. Nothing like the miners strikes.
Swindon still mananufacture a lot of the steel panels for the Mini made in Oxford.
Years ago that was the big British Leyland plant that manufactured most of the UK cars. Strikes were common place and any excuse to down tools and blame others.
When Swindon play Oxford it just brings out the nutters from both sides.

On average, yes.

No ‘reckon’ about it btw, it’s fahct.

You can chuck the ‘Sunderland fan’ goalpost move in now if you like.

Well you must have lurked in the shadows for years before you ramped it up to 200 posts a day if your average is less than mine.

Newcastle fans tried to get plane to fly over St James's as part of their Ashley protests, couldn't afford it, and instead a Sunderland plane turned up laughing at them. Years later Newcastle plane turns up mumbling on about how cancer is bad but so are Sunderland, everyone shrugs with mild disgust.
You going?

No im certainly not. Its sad as fuck, but its not simply newcastle fans showing obsession. Some of your lot does it regularly too. Its some fuckers taking a rivalry to sad levels.

Let them come it will be a nice experience for them coming to the SOL and leaving happy. For some of their younger fans it maybe the first time they ever have

Remember when that was bastard went to the Norwich away game in his mag top. Why would you bother the bellend.

There was one went to our game at Huddersfield too, his bar code stuck out a mile in the home end. Was ejected very quickly. Starnge specimens.

Exactly, they’re all welcome for a pint before the game in The Jacksons hotel and spa.

Sunderland have cancelled a number of tickets in the away end for their final game of the season against Wolves after information suggested they had fallen into the hands of Newcastle supporters.
