Artificial Grass

if you have a small shady yard maybe but to rip up grass to lay that is terrible...

just feed and maintain your grass and leave the cut a bit longer if you have a dog

This, cut the grass on the second highest setting....it’s coming into spring, so a bit of lawn feed and seed...be right in no time...we have two dogs and the lawns in ok nick, considering the winter we’ve had...

Don’t get the solid green stuff it looks shocking the stuff with some brown blades of grass in looks amazing

Scratgrass
Didn’t think it would be long until someone labelled it for ‘scratters’!

I must misunderstand what the word actually means these days because I always thought it was a label for the underclasses, yet all things that are labelled as scratterish on here cost an awful lot of hard earned money.

Getting my bk garden re-turfed soon along with overhaul and looked into this AG stuff - the really authentic looking is very expensive but I really like a natural lawn and the Summer smell of freshly cut grass is class.

What’s to stop dogs scratting it up or chowing holes through it ?

I have a Jack Russell and I’m sure he’d make mincemeat of it.

How does it hold up to wear? I.e. tables and chairs being used on it?

Anyone got it and pebble dash? One thing that puts me off is the amount of pebbles that fall off our pebble dash. Is it a case of hoovering every now and then?

Don't have pebble dash, but ours has been down for a year and shows no wear and tear, considering the extreme weathers we've had in NE37

A quick brush every now and again, keeps it looking nice and tidy

We currently have decking which the grooves are filled with stones, have to get a screwdriver and pop them out before brushing, often wondering if I could spray one type of glue over them to hold them in place.

Someone will know. We have a paved patio area, approx 8m by 4m, which is now covered with artificial turf.

This^^,,, i bet it looks a rite clip in a few years. its a no for me.
It doesn't. No fading from the sun, or damage through the winter.

We ruled out a few houses when we were buying because they had artificial grass. It looks and is shit

I suspect it’ll have been down a few years because the newer stuff looks superb, worth paying the extra to get the realistic stuff. Granted some of the cheap gear does look gash mind.

And I don’t believe you didn’t buy a house because it had fake grass!

It doesn't and isn't.

Depends on type and how it is laid.
Conflicting statements
