I'm a member of the Sheffield United message board as well - joined for no particular reason other than too see what fellow football fans were saying. They are flabbergasted at just how bad we are and just cant understand our freefall. We are held up as a shining example of how not to run a football club and there genuinely seems to be sympathy there for us. There does seem to be quite a bit of chatter going on and a certain amount of voyeurism over our situation and the fans in particular are garnering a bit of a reputation in the face of adversity. Twitter et al in particular have some quite sympathetic views on our predicament.

Whats absolutely pitiful is the attitude of the NUFC fans. Not so much the piss taking which is accepted but the way in which at every opportunity they are tripping over themselves to slate absolutely everything about the club and make a clear point of doing so. Its almost an obsession to put SAFC down at every opportunity and ram it home to a degree that is unhealthy.
The mags stuff doesnt bother me anymore. Im so immune to shitness from following Sunderland, whatever they say rarely even registers with me at this stage.

Which annoys them more than anything they say could annoy me.

The series starts with the Celtic game and I think the club genuinely thought that we would be promoted. Shows the arrogance of the club I guess. So the whole thing starts badly with a 0 v 5 thrashing and just gets worse. I've been interviewed for it 3 times now:

Burton Albion away - where i got into an argument with some fellow SAFC fans about Ellis short - they were defending him, I wasnt
At the SOL where I was filmed for 90 minutes being asked a plethora of questions about the club, its history et al, and
Prior to the Sheffield Wednesday game where i predicted a 2 v 0 win (no idea why)

Clearly I dont know what bits will be in of me and what wont.

The first 2 episodes have already been produced and sent to to Netflix and I'm told by the F73 lads that Netflix absolutely loved it. It goes out just after the WC. There are up to 10 of them working on this now crowded into the little room on the ground floor at Black Cat house as you go in the main entrance.

Any publicity, as they say, is good publicity.

We are already the biggest laughing stock and embarassment in English footy so we may as well add to this.

So same as ever then.

You sure they're NUFC fans? Sounds like a fair proportion of the supposed SAFC fans on here from that description.

Its got to the stage where fans of other clubs have noted their obsession and they are starting to take the piss out of the mags. It really is absolutely cringeworthy and simply baffling how utterly devoid of any sort of self awareness they are. It really is a mission for some of them to make sure that SAFC gets no credit for anything, has not one redeemable feature but in doing so they put no case forward for NUFC being in any way better than us. The objective isnt to big up their own club, its to absolutely slate SAFC as much as they can for as long as they can. In doing so they have gone so over the top that people are starting to take the piss out of them.

Howay then show us the links to these mag comments

I actually think this documentary could be good for the club. Let’s face it, we are falling off the radar of the football world, especially globally, and this will be even worse next season. We are also not particularly liked due to our boring football.

If this is screened both worldwide and at home by a company that is sympathetic to us, our fans in particular may come out in a good light and we may gain some goodwill at least from football watchers.

The bits in bold definitely sound like some of the supposed SAFC fans on here.

My thoughts too. No publicity is bad publicity. We will be a club punching well below its weight next year. Bargain basement we are not. May even attract a punt form someone too

This as been going on for years mate, particularly from Mags working in the media, they're eating away with hatred and it all boils down to the fact that deep down, they know we've always been above them with the six titles and the six in a row derby defeats really pushed them over the edge..;)

Really looking forward to this, will hopefully include input from behind the scenes.
If it's just voyeurism and fan interviews then we'll learn nowt.
