Ha'wayawayawayawayawayaway!!!!!! Season is back, season is back, hello, HELLO!

Can't see there being a great deal of play mind

Club photocall/media day was today, decent coverage on the local news about it actually - interviews with Smith and Rimmington, who must be wondering what the fuck he's signed up for with the weather this week .

Any news of this being on? Pleased its not starting tomorrow!

The first 4 CC games and the Uni friendly are all Friday starts.

Squad vs Durham MCCU (13-15 April)
Paul Collingwood (c), Cameron Steel, Will Smith, Gareth Harte, Graham Clark, Michael Richardson, Stuart Poynter, Matthew Potts, Nathan Rimmington, Barry McCarthy, James Weighell, Chris Rushworth

I'd go with Potts, Weighell and McCarthy battling it out for the 3rd and 4th seamer spots in the XI for the first CC match. Harte 12th man, if we're only playing 11 that is (you never know with it not being FC).

I reckon they'll all play with one or some of the seamers rotating off the field.

Surely Bazza doesn't need a run out seeing as he's been playing for Ireland but ..... maybe he'll get to bowl a ball or two .... assuming there's any play at all given the weather.

Nice to see Harte in there, for me that's a clear sign he'll be a part of the side this year - even if he's the one to make way when Markram arrives.

I think from that squad he's guaranteed to start, IMO that's the batting order too - with Colly the captain slotting in at 5 or 6 - we won't play 5 seamers, unless we play 12 men, so it'll be likely between McCarthy and Weighell for the right to play and the right to carry the drinks.

So put simply:

Steel
Smith
Harte
Clark
Collingwood
Richardson
Poynter
Potts
Rimmington
Weighell/McCarthy
Rushworth

Supposed to be rain free all next week and from next Friday onward it's supposed to be 15, 14, 13, 14 degrees sunny intervals with no rain. Cricket may occur.

FTECB will be firing nuclear water balloons at CLS all next week I'm told
