I tend to use industrial language when I'm pissed off/annoyed (I rarely get angry), you seem to use it all the time......just wondering if that's your craic in real life?

Also, do you go on like this when you meet a Mag in the real world?
It's part of my everyday life, since I started work 30 years ago "industrial language" as you put it has been there, I use it when I wish, that's because I can do what I want within reason.

The thing is with mags, one on one they're normal everyday people, get them in a gaggle and 9/10 they become arseholes. I've worked with mags throughout my working life and quickly they reaise act like a prick then expect to be treat like a prick, that isn't mag specific, that's my take on anyone. It's managed to get me through life pretty well.

You've probably realised I really couldn't give a fuck what anyone thinks and to me a spade is a spade, no need to sugarcoat things, plenty of other people to do that. I lead a fuckin cracking life and I'm fortunate enough to be able to do what I want when I want so please forgive me for not being your cup of tea.

I thought you were a bit different from the majority but you've reverted to stereotype.

I'm off for a nice brew before I retire for the night, got to be up early for a round of golf, it's a fuckin hard life at times.

You're certainly right there, you sound like a right arrogant berk to be fair.

I'm sure you're gutted. ;)

Far from arrogant, I'm one of the most down to earth people you could ever meet. You asked a question or two and I was attempting to give you a better understanding as it's difficult explain yourself properly on here.

And yes, I'm absolutely gutted that a sad mag thinks that.

Fuckin trolley ban on at the golf club, need to hoy my clubs in the old carry bag, this life is full of challenges.

Only pulling your pisser man........you see, you can be much better when you're not so angry.

Enjoy your round tomorrow, try not to break your best putter in half. ;)

Not even the biggest Short critic would deny he has shown ambition whilst the biggest Ashley defender / fan wouldn’t claim him to be ambitious.

In my opinion there’s a big difference between an ambitious owner and a financially astute one.

That I suppose is my point here, cool if you don’t agree.

Good and honest post.

For me, and call me old fashioned, is that I hate the attitude of just spending as little as you can to survive.
Supporters deserve a bit of effort and seeing a team and manager doing what they can to win. It’s what it’s all about to me.
My biggest gripe was the total dismissal of attempting to win a cup. The whole ethos of sacrificing an attempt to win something in order to survive in the premier league.
Your cup final against Man City, ours in the 90’s are or should be the most important as supporters. Great days / nights and a bit of belief. We didn’t win but we tried. Ashley has never tried and that for me is unforgivable.

Wether it’s the champions league or Northern league, I want to take my kids to watch a team who attempts to win things, not to watch a team that is happy to break even financially.
But you’ve seen what happens when chairmen attempt to win things and throw money at football clubs and it fails. Leeds, Pompey and now us.
Nowt wrong with getting the club on a financially secure footing like FMA has done.
I don’t think he’s done much wrong up to now. However now is the time to go for it - you’re financially stable, have a manager players want to play for , and a manager that is successful and I’m pretty confident will continue to be.

However I presume a lot of his enthusiasm has waned after all the protests against him and the cockney mafia. If he doesn’t go for it , maybe the fans have to look at themselves a wee bit.
If he does, and he f***ing should do next season, I think a lot of you need to start realising he’s been good for the club

Fair post.

Leeds and Pompey didn’t just attempt though, they succeeded with a league and FA cup win respectively. Id much rather have that on my CV than what we have. All day every day.

I also think he’s never had any enthusiasm since the day he walked through the door, he’s certainly never done anything of intent to suggest that.
In the summer, if he does spend big and does show real investment and commitment, I’ll gladly hold up my hands. I’ll be absolutely staggered if he relents and does this though. Happy to be proved wrong.

Not all, it's impossible, some pretend to be Sunderland fans, Birmingham fans and one or two are palatable.

Some even have more than one login, some reinvent themselves for some strange reason, what's your story?

I couldnt remember my password for my original account. Nightmare

Ashley gave your manager £80m then gave you a world class manager.
Surely the two managers were incompetent (mainly McLaren) not Ashley.

McClaren was a poor appointment and I don't need hindsight to tell you that. He's been toss for years. Proper scrutiny would show he's not the manager to take that squad by the scruff of the neck. And simply giving whomever is in the Managers office £80m isn't evidence of competence. Otherwise, by that rationale, Short is a competent owner given the amount of cash he's given your owners.

I don't believe for a second that Mike Ashley sought out Benitez, fairly sure I've read somewhere that, in fact, Benitez approached Charnley about the role himself.

It's been said on here Ashley is a bad owner, it's the consensus in the papers, on the radio, on the tv, in the stands and so on.

Watching this thread is absolutely hilarious, no wonder this board is so popular.

There's a constant stream of Mags totally missing the point of the thread, posting their 'facts' 24/7 that ignore.

But the funniest thing is that every single one of them denies ever using phrases like 'Geordie Nation' 'King Kev' 'Messiah' 'Rafa the Gaffa' etc etc etc.

They've never heard another Mag using any of them either.

And they've never met any other Mags who've expected to finish any higher than 4th bottom, claimed they've finish top half or have Benitez take them into Europe .....

.....almost as if they never leave the house or have no friends

I just dont think he's as good as what he once was and I dont mean this in the disrespectful way but he's at a club who've been relegated and back in the league with an owner with no interest in spending money - any top manager would be off in the knowledge they'll be in a better job a month after whereas Benitez seems reluctant to move despite moaning about money and making thin veiled threats about leaving - that to me suggests he's not got any concrete offers from higher calibre clubs.
Why is it when Mourinho and Wenger complain about funds it's a political play, but not when Benitez does it? There are various claims in the press that Benitez has been attracting the admiring gaze from several clubs, including your own. Again, the budget isn't the only factor, especially when the rumours of a takeover persist.

He's done alright but you've just won 2 on the bounce - if you lose your next 2 you could be back in 14/15th abd everyone hates Ashley again saying Newcastle are going nowhere - fans are very fickle.
3 wins on the bounce, only lost to Liverpool and Man City since Christmas, only Spurs and Man Utd have conceded fewer than Newcastle. If we lose our next two (Arsenal and Everton) we'll still be safe and I don't think anyone will be that upset. Ashley remains a **** and nobody has forgotten that.

Chris Hughton has done equally as good a job this season as has Wagner and both you would say started the season in weaker positions than yourselves so again until the end of the season I couldnt pat Rafa on the back as you could finish 10th you could equally finish 15th.
Well, they haven't done as well, have they? They're both lower down the league, in fact Huddersfield are in real danger of going down. They both spent more than Benitez did this season and Brighton's squad only lost out to the title on the final day, so it's not like we had a headstart on them in that regard. If we end up 10th Benitez has done a brilliant job with what he's got, anything but relegation is a good job with what is essentially still a Championship squad. Hughton deserves credit for calmly steering his club to what looks like safety, and any credit going to Benitez doesn't take credit away from Hughton, there isn't a limited amount of credit to pass around. Wagner's Huddersfield have 10pts from a possible 42 since Christmas, no team has scored fewer and only 3 teams have conceded more.

A world of difference between trying to tempt a manager from Man City than from Newcastle mate.
Course there is, but your rationale for dismissing Benitez is that you haven't heard concrete evidence that another team is interested in him. Which is myopic folly.

I'll leave it at that, good luck for the rest of the season bar your trip to Goodison!
Cheers and good luck for you too, and I truly hope you get shot of Allardyce asap, for your clubs' sake.

Would you swap Ashley for Short.

Just a yes or no would do, not a full essay.

No.

Would you want your significant other to give you Herpes rather than Gonorrhea ?
Just a yes or no would do, not a full essay.

See how puerile this type of question is?

With hindsight, probably not.

But who would you have chosen the night you beat Everton to stay up? It just seems that Ashley has been more interested in protecting his asset, whereas Short has clearly had enough (of losing money).
