Who's paying for it?A bit pissed but aren’t they building a new paint plant costing millions, why invest in a new paint plant if they are going to fuck off
But they'll let Africa join in our place .So because of Brexit Nissan want to shut the Sunderland plant and open a new one in Africa?
Smells like bullshit to me.
But they'll let Africa join in our place .
You may well laugh but think of all the skills they would bring .FoM of people from Africa. Seems a vote winner to me
Do they take prisoners at you're level?nah, worked in the sector with supply base big players and on plant as well plenty assisting them with new starts.
Used to also take groups round on plant visits which were always very well received. Used to work in a local College back in the day and had lots of TLs and Supervisors come on courses. Then moved to work in the sector with Nissan and supply base directly. Doug Lorraine was training manager back then and amazing how many of Supes then have gone on from there to top positions in Company which furthers my opinion as to why the plant has a good future
Edit, you must be close to if not in sector when you use QA not QC
plenty will feel captive on the line for sureDo they take prisoners at you're level?
Friend of mine's brother is an engineer with Nissan in Barcelona. Last week he was sent to Tangiers to help look for site of new macro- factory. He says it is direct threat to the future of the Sunderland plant.
God help Sunderland, the region and our club if this is true.
If there is such a thing, will it be like the one we could impose on VW, BMW, Mercedes, Renault, Audi etc., ?What post Brexit export taxation is this?

New paint shop, new supplier park, new press, new road inferstructure.
Replacement Juke, Qashqai and Xtrail planned.
Nothing guaranteed but the future has never been as optimistic with huge investment planned.
Let’s see what Brexit brings, lots to overcome but as normal they will sort it.
Nissan still be here in 20 years time , bookmark this
On the contrary they are planning a supply hub at the Sunderland IAMP for Nissan and Renault - so suppliers based there would make parts for both Nissan and Renault which would then be sent out worldwide. Obviously tariffs would potentially be a game changer but as it stands Nissan's links with Renault are really good news for Sunderland as far as I can see - they have had an alliance for over 15 years so I can't see how a merger would change that. Carlos Ghosn is CEO of Renault and was previously CEO of Nissan.Let’s hope you’re right but any coming Renault merger would suggest otherwise.
I have heard similar rumblings about uncertainty from the people I know work there.
No doubt if the Sunderland plant if affected, Brexit will become the scapegoat for this regardless of it’s the real reason. Companies are too easily jumping on the Brexit bandwagon when they see a slump in performance or want a restructure.Let’s hope you’re right but any coming Renault merger would suggest otherwise.
Always rumblings in pay negotiations yearI have heard similar rumblings about uncertainty from the people I know work there.
