I still don't think we got a proper explanation about Bancroft spooning sugar into his pocket during The Ashes...... For me England and our media didn't make anywhere near enough of an issue of it.

I'll add that this is f***ing hilarious and I hope they do get banned for that long, but it sounds way over the top to me

I'd like to know peoples opinions on how throwing down a few premeditated no balls constitutes jail time and hefty bans but premeditated institutionalised cheating to gain an advantage to win doesn't. Unless we all think the Pakistani's sentences were harsh.

Because they committed a criminal offence by doing so whilst scrubbing a ball with tape and dirt isnt against the law (in the UK or SA)

I reckon he was getting the sugar onto the tape and then scrubbing the ball to get it to reverse. I wonder if BT sport are going back over their coverage to see if they can catch something......

The pakistani's were involved in illegal gambling as well though werent they? Hence the jail time. This is different, Against the laws of the sport certainly but not illegal outside of the sport.

Presumably because the no ball thing is fraud, ie a criminal offence. The bookies conspired with the player to 'fix' the game.

That seems ok to me. I think it's important that the whole chain of command within the team is punished (ie those 3), makes a great incentive for future holders of the positions in future to insist on sticking to the proper behaviour.

England Cricket should also come out and say they'd do likewise if something similar happens with them.

I’m not convinced totally by that one as players have been known to have sugar during games for energy

Also Bancroft wasn’t the ball shiner till this Game, it was Warner, then it changed, part of the reason Bancroft got caught

Bancroft will be playing again, form allowing, he’s been thrown under the bus

Correct me if I'm wrong but there wasn't any wrong doing in this country though. We don't even have a no ball spot betting over here.

Again. Iirc there was no fraud commited here (injured parties were not over here only in india).

Apparently it wasn't sugar it was chewing gum. They keep chewing gum and nuts in bowls and use spoons for hygiene reasons! Can't believe they've said that with a straight face!
 
Reckon Sutherland will agree to the National Anthem being changed to GSTQ. 2017/18 Ashes result annulled, The badge on the baggy green to be changed to an image of Bancroft putting sandpaper down his duds so long as he can get away with a 12 month ban for Smith. Warner will be asked to take Sonny Bill for a bit of bumfun
