Stupid bairns names

Dylan is far more common as a Christian name than a surname TBH.
And surnames come from Christian names (sometimes).

No one bats an eye if you call your child William or Bryan, but they are both surnames, but call your kid Taylor or Mackenzie and you are a full on chav. (Supposedly). I don't think it is surname as Christian name that is chavvy just some names are considered a bit chavvy.

To be fair, I can only think of one person who's surname is Bryan

Here's trouble at mill over here cos some thicko wants to name their kid 'Messiah' and a judge has blocked it.
On the one hand you should theoretically be free to call your kid whatever you like, on the other the court has the right to protect a kid from idiotic parents and the undoubted playground abuse the kid will get.
Fair comment.

The Americans do come up with some daft names for kids. If the court protects the kid from ridicule by blocking a name, that's perfectly understandable.

I went to school with a lass called Pinky Lee. Up until sixth form, you can guess the piss takes.

How did the piss takes differ in sixth form?
