It's only weird if you sit in the pub on your own afterwards having a loud conversation with yourself about the film you've just watched.

Nar, I dont mind going on my own, only done it once as I wanted to see the film and I was single at the time and it was a scary horror and all my mates are soft shites not that I'd have asked them anyway, although I did go see that Avatar with 3 other mates.

Weird is maybe the incorrect term, it's just something that I've never done. It was mentioned on here a few months back.
In my personal friendship group experience -lads go to the pub or the match together, or climb a mountain or something.
I know of some lads who go shopping for the day quite regularly. I'd never do it, but I rarely go shopping anyway.
Going to the cinema on your own though? Aye, done it loads. You're there to watch a film in silence with your own thoughts, what's weird about going on your own?

No. When the film starts, talking is pretty much prohibited so going with other people is pretty redundant.

I've been to the cinema on my own many times when no one else fancied what I wanted to see. I spent a very pleasant afternoon last year at Tyneside Cinema with a bottle of wine going to see Blade Runner 2049 as my friend couldn't make it and I thought 'sod that I'll go myself'. It helps if you're good company too.
