A19

Been working from home Wed and Thurs and probably tomorrow too, but did a supply run to the elderly parents this morning with bread, milk, etc from Seaham to Red House. Roads off the home estate not great but easily managed if you know how to drive. A19 was slushy but a doddle if you managed speed and distance from other vehicles. Still witnessed the usual dickheads with excess speed, insufficent braking distances, no lights, porthole clearing of windscreens only, etc.
I was surprised by how bad the bus route roads in Red House were though. NWDSC.
The weather really means nowt, those who don't know how or are shit scared to drive in adverse conditions don't venture out. Dickhead drivers will always be dickheads.

Wife went in early to avoid the traffic, said it was fine. That's Peterlee to north tees

Ironically, she's gone in, and I can't even work from home today as the school and childminders are closed. Day with the bairn for me

as the late, great George Carlin once pondered...

...i noticed that anyone driving slower than me is a complete moron, but anyone driving faster than me is a total maniac....

This is why the majority of accidents happen and roads get blocked, idiots not driving to conditions and allowing safe stopping distances, even more so with potentially slippy roads

This isn't the UK as it's a video from Iowa in early February but I've seen similar driving here standards here that could easily end up with multiple vehicle collisions if they had to stop in emergency.

I wonder how many people know that ABS in the snow can potentially increase stopping distance if you slam the brakes down and hold them.

This bloke reckons letting go of the brakes helped him but it's still his own fault. That's because in his comment description it looks like he had time to switch on camera when conditions got worse. He never thought to decrease his speed so he could safely stop within his visible distance! Look at the lorry that comes piling through at 17 seconds still at speed!!
