What's the best result for us?

Reading have their game in hand tonight anarl

Interesting that many prefer the draw.

I think we can all agree that a Barnsley win is by far the worst, but I still think a Hull win is best. Yes, a draw will keep them more in the mix - if Hull win, they will be very hard to catch, but realistically, they are much more likely to stay up than Barnsley. They are 8/1 to go down whereas Barnsley are 5/4, that's a hell of a difference for a team being one point clear.

A draw puts Barnsley 5 clear of us, plus goal difference and that's means if we do somehow manage back to back wins, they will stay above if they draw either of those 2 games and I'd much rather be 4 points behind a weak team than 5 behind a weak team and 6 behind a stronger team.

A Barnsley win would be horrific though and I'd think we'd be almost certain to drop if they get it.

Can't see Barnsley getting enough points regardless of tonight

Perhaps not, but if they do win then it will be extremely hard for us and Burton to make up that 7, plus goal difference, gap on them. Whether Birmingham can pass them is a different story.

True but we'd still only be 5 off Hull and they could easily implode. Small squad and all the off field issues

There's lots of ways to look at it, but realistically, I'd rather be 4 behind a team not long out of League One, selling their better players with a goal difference that would just about be retrievable, than be 5 behind a stronger side with a proven very good striker almost back and with a goal difference advantage which pretty much won't be caught.

The bookies suggest us, Burton as almost gone and then 1 of Barnsley, Bham and still Bolton so while its going to be tough regardless, if we can keep to within 3 and 4 points of those aforementioned teams then I personally think that's our best chance of staying up and even then it will still be a long shot.
