Open Letter To Ellis Short/Petition

Since this petition was started he's dropped the price by £30 million and now there's reports he'll give it away as long as they take on the debt so......

Do you really believe it's anything to do with the petition, I doubt he's even aware of it tbh.

Short has simply said he'll give the club away because then no one can demand more.

So what do the supporters do if no one comes in to take the club on .... another petition?

In part yes, Short hates bad publicity, hates reporters, hates people saying anything that devalues his assets, this petition has had a lot of publicity and it's all bad for Short, It's not the only reason, of course it isn't but I def think it's played a small part.

Your right. I know for a fact he hates bad publicity and has even contacted local fanzines etc when they have wrote something that he believes is detrimental. To say he is oblivious to such press and bad coverage is absolutely pathetic TBH. Even in his stupid interview he alluded to the fact he was watching and listening .

He phoned someone commentating on our games to berate him for talking the club down making it harder for him to sell it.

Fair play to you mate, I hope it's true for your sake.

I'm not sure what it means tbh ... if you're right then Short has effectively 'given in' to the supporters and washed his hands of the club.

If no one steps forward, Fulwell73 or whoever, then we're left with nothing.

haven't heard from Short since September but we've heard from him (unofficially) twice in 24 hours in the same week that pressure was stepped up from our side of the water.

probably just a coincidence like...

We haven't though tbh.

I'd say the crowds halving would put a lot more pressure on than an e-petition ..... but who knows?

Seems like from what's been said, he is very thin skinned, and doesn't like it when the media glare is on.

It's barely been mentioned tbh ..... media glare was what we had with Adam Johnson and di Canio, neither of which seemed to bother him.

perhaps but there was absolutely no reason why taking 5 seconds to sign a petition was going to be detrimental to the cause so why the strong opposition?

I still believe Short's sudden determination to get things moving is down to this week's pressure like. He doesn't strike me as the type of guy who would like to go down a Blackpool/Charlton route where it's an us/me vs them situation and face 2 or 3 years of stand-off between himself & fans. The petition was a sharp reminder that that situation is quite likely unless he gets a shift on.

I wasn't personally strongly opposed, it just looked weak to me ..... but I can't speak for everyone.

I've said on here, many times, that I want Short out and a good new owner in.

The first part would be considerably easier if there was a second part.

Ashley has given up on Newcastle and can't get the club off his hands.

They're a club with bigger gates and in the PL but the NE of England isn't an attractive place for the very rich.

We were lucky to get Short but it didn't go the way he, and everyone else, hoped.
