Yes, 78-83Stranglers, Bow Wow Wow, The Jam, Depeche Mode, Haircut 100 and Bananarama all on the same show. Was there ever a better era for British music than 1979-82?
I'd have started earlier, probably late 76/ early 77

We all used to complain like shit every week about TOTP and how crap it was - if you were lucky there might be one or two bands on that you really liked or looked forward to seeing.
Looking back we had no idea how lucky we were to be in the middle of such an eclectic and creative period. Of course even with rose tinted geggs a lot of it was still out and out crap (Hayzee Fantayzee, Joe Dolce, others too numerous to mention) but what a time to be alive!
1966-1970

Remember buying records back then was a whole experience in itself, the first time you took it out of the sleeve, dropped it on the deck and lifted the stylus into the groove. Poring over the artwork for hours on end, reading every minutiae of detail on the cover, and if you were lucky even having the lyrics to the songs so you weren't a victim of misheard lyricsThose were great days for listening to music on vinyl records with not even cassettes, AM radio , no internet Youtube MTV or smartphones.
