CLS to host some decent england games but nee t20 franchise

Doesnt say if we can get test cricket though

The Ageas Bowl and the SWALEC Stadium will host matches in the England and Wales Cricket Board's new Twenty20 franchise competition, along with Edgbaston, Headingley, The Oval, Lord's, Old Trafford and Trent Bridge.

I thought that was ruled out last year.

Botham seemed to be confident last year too that CLS would get some new T20 Comp action. I couldn't see it.

However, this is good news and should provide some funds, which I think would go directly to the ECB to pay off the debt but why not, the sooner the better I reckon.

Were we not stripped of test hosting status by the ECB?

Franchise shite for us then. Obviously I shall not be attending.

Our international are as follows

2018 Pakistan Test India ODI
2019 Ashes Test, Pakistan ODI
2020 T20s against the Crims and Pakistan
2021 India Test and Pakistan T20
2023 Ashes

Nowt like a bit of variety eh? Looks like FTECB are only hosting three teams for the next few years (the three biggest money makers in the game of course), with a respite in 2022 for SA and NZ

Both London grounds being used, which is intriguing. Be interested to see how it works.

Agree with @brandon about watching it fall from the outside mind. Would be much happier if SCCC and the Oval weren't a part of that, but ho hum.

Like them deciding not to send us to the Gabba. Should be Trent Bridge, Old Trafford and Edgbaston every time then two more out of the rest.
Exactly. I know Durham have lost test status but iirc England never lost a test up here

The last ashes over here the Aussies won both games in London and buckled in the sticks

This t20 franchise thing, does that mean no more natwest t20 blast? Or will that still run?
The domestic T20 is still being played and will likely to after the franchise bollocks is shelved

Would love nowt better if the domestic games drew higher crowds than the franchise stuff
