This was the only Leeds fest I ever went to:

Worked it for Oxfam so got in free (in lieu of pay). Had the first day off, worked all day Saturday (including the tent when Feeder were on - and missed the rest of the shite that day) and the first part of Sunday and got to see all the good bands Sunday afternoon/evening.:cool:

Fair enough. Looks to me that both lineups are full of the most popular acts of the day suggesting that the booking hasn't really changed a great deal.

Last time I went was 2010 and the tickets sold out on the day they went on sale. Don't think it always sold out that quick but usually sold out well in advance.
I went from 2004-09 and from memory 06-09 sold out straight away, that was in the middle of a live music boom when even gigs would sell out immediately. Completely different world now music wise.

Still that line up is terrible.

I went to Reading that year, what a line up it was. The Sunday at Reading was superb, literally saw about 15 bands in that day alone.

Aye, got down there for Amen. By the time Incubus were on (before they went shite) I'd made it to the front and stayed there the whole way through to the Prodigy. At some point during their set I got out and went further back and watched them from a bit of a hill so I could have a rest and watch the light show from further back.

Enjoyed/used to listen to each band from Amen onwards that day.

Didn't know they offered them. Did get special camping area privileges though. A small area just for staff. Nice and clean and secure.

Don't know anybody around my age who goes to the likes of Leeds/Reading (early 20's). Creamfields seems to be the big one nowadays.

Edit- Parklife as well actually

Lovebox is the pick of the festival lineups this year for me so far like, Childish Gambino, Anderson .Paak, NERD, Big Boi and The Internet all announced for it. There’s a lot of house music there as well (which I hate, Bicep have been announced though who are a bit of an exception as they are fantastic.)

Their dj sets can be a bit dull but I do like that Just tune.

The best day festival is Junction 2. Less full of bellends than stuff like Lovebox.

There's grime and rap artists all over that

not what people go to Reading/Leeds to see

Going the same way as V Festival which was glorious around the turn of the century but slowly became a glorified Radio One roadshow

Went to v every year used to get early bird tickets. Stood there when Bieber was on and thought thats me done what the fuck am I doing here. Faithless were on on the other stage and hardly anyone was watching. Not surprised it's gone the journey. Had some great Weekends there though.
