Running Thread 2018

Does anyone have a recommendation as to how long a pair of good running trainers should last? Or does it just depends on the miles you do in them? I'm currently up to 575 miles in my current trainers which i got in August last year.

Think it depends on the quality of the shoe, surface you run on, how your feet land etc. I tend to get 300-500 out of mine but some have lasted longer. I can generally feel when they’re nearing the end of their life. I start to feel the pavement more. Also, much like a tyre, you can tell when the treads are worn.

There’s no tread on the ball of mine and I can feel each stride through my shins and knees. Time to get fitted I reckon.

Ive always used start fitness, staff are decent and knowledgable. You won’t necessarily get a bargain though. Never tried NR.
Ok mate, more people have recommended them than NR. I have used the one in Durham about 7/8 year ago when I bought the ones I’ve got now. But they reckon NR use a video to check which shoe you’ll need. It’s in Newcastle by the way.

I’ve only had my gait done once, that was in the old sweatshop in the metro in 2014. They recommended the standard Adidas boost. That’s all I’ve ran in since

To be fair to SF in Durham they recommended I used a neutral shoe but he only done it by sight so I thought I’d give NR a go. That was donkeys years ago though.
