I used to think that, but I've enjoyed the Bish Bash Bosh finals while I've been here down under.

The main problem with it seems to be that the game can be over very quickly, unlike the toing and froing that's more likely in Tests.

For example, Whetherald scored a ton by the 15th over in the final. That was game over. Leaves you feeling robbed even though there's more than half of the game to come.

I can't even imagine what a 10 over game would look like. Might as well throw a dice.

Think it's the case in all forms tbh. I've seen a lot of Test and County Championship matches where you know who's going to win after the first day, even the first session on a really bad day. It's very difficult to stage a comeback in cricket, that's why matches like Headingley 81 are talked about so much.

It's not a popular competition mate. I bet less than 0.5% of the population could name the 2017 winners.

IPL is played to a market of a Billion that worships Cricket while the BBL is the only major sporting event taking place in Australia at that time as NRL, AFL, A League and Super Rugby are all played during their winter. Neither of those situations apply to England, especially when the new tournament will be going head on with the start of Football and Rugby season.

With respect none of that makes any difference. The ECB have done pretty much nothing for several years and even when they did decide to do something it was given a 2 year lead time.

Mean time several other countries have instigated their own tournaments and you now have several brilliant English white ball cricketers can't get a contract while many bog standard Aussies can. That is purely down to the high profile events like the big bash.

Sorry mate but that's totally defeatist.

If T20 was marketed properly here it could be massive, in the same way as 1981 and 2005 were. Vaughan gets panned on this board but he's right when he says cricket should be looking to sell out the Olympic Stadium etc. The new ECB want to grow the game as opposed to the Giles Clarke era who shrank it.

I think once the T20 beds in (it'll take a couple of years for teams to gain an identity) it'll be capable of filling big venues.
