nah it was always planned for may this year, memorial weekend or something...Didn't think it'd be out this summer. Have they brought it forward in the hope that people forget about the last one?

Will be fine, sure he was former empire in the books. Could be wrong, never read them.Well they're suggesting he's joining the Empire... that'll not wash. I think they're delibrately playing with the audience there - he's probably just posing as a wannabe recruit so he can nick summit.
I can accept young Obi Wan. I can't accept Shia Le Bauerf as son of Indy. Which way will this go?Hard to tell from that if it will be good or bad. Nice seeing the shiny new falcon.
One thing that any fan seeing it will need to do is forget about how Ford played Solo and accept the new character will be different. Same as when we got a new, younger Obi Wan.
Given the troubled shoot I'm going with an Indy 4 situation.I can accept young Obi Wan. I can't accept Shia Le Bauerf as son of Indy. Which way will this go?
haha... if nothing else, this thread proves that won't happen!any fan seeing it will need to do is forget about how Ford played Solo and accept the new character will be different
in ron howard i trust...Given the troubled shoot I'm going with an Indy 4 situation.
He'll turn up and make a solid 7 or 8 out of ten fillum every time.in ron howard i trust...
It's the famus numbah 9 short of acting.may not be him talking then, the trailers are some times edited to confuse.
its a big ask mind, filling harrison ford's shoes in a truly iconic role... the way the star wars fandom reacted over the last jedi portray of luke may only be the tip of the iceburg if they don't like what they've done to young solo...
It is that kind of aloof snidey dismissive and divisive arrogance that permeates the film and contributes to it being such an utter shambles of political dogma

Unfortunately to fanboys that means it is the worst thing ever.
Disagree marra, checked out his IMDb page and all the film's he's made that I've seen (most of them) over the last 15 years have been decent. The evidence on Ron Howard doesn't support that. Ron Howard up until about 15 years ago, yes. Recently he's not been so reliable

Couldn't comment on how they did in terms of gross, this is star wars though so that's not a concern regardless of the film quality.
His output as director in last 15 years:
Cinderella Man - Canny
Da Vinci Code - Shite
Frost/Nixon - Canny
Angels and Demons - shite
The Dilemma - utter shite
Rush - very good
In The Heart of the Sea - meh
Inferno - shite
Cinderella
Da Vinci Code - Decent
Are those ones not just shit because of the books? Though you could blame him for agreeing to direct them.Reported

it could be that you're just a fan of Peter Morgan scripts?Tbf there is an argument to be made that if neither Dan Brown nor Vince Vaughn are involved, Ron Howard's odds of making a good film improve considerably
