Let’s not have a knee jerk reaction to this, we’re going to have the odd horror show when we play the way we do.

Woakes averages 46 with the bat in ODIs since the last World Cup, world class all rounder in white ball cricket
 

Always pleasing to Smith out. He can’t play leg spin very well mind. It has his ugly style of play looking just that without the runs.

Meanwhile, the Aussie commentators said it was a mistake to bowl Rashid to Smith.

He's been superb during the ODI's but that doesn't re-write history.

It wasn’t mental weakness tho. People think he is soft as he doesn’t scream, doesn’t have sleeve tattoos and has a sensible haircut

People said the team in general, not Woakes per se, were mentally weak.

Woakes' particular problem has been one of physical fitness. He was injured over the summer and nackered by the fourth test.

who did people mean then you cant really accuse malan root cook Anderson broad of it either
 
Decent by the bowlers but in the end we had to be very lucky to be able to keep wickets and take risks batting and we fell about 30 short. 220 - 230 and we might have got a very unlikely win.

Wellll, yes and no.

If for instance Ben Stokes moved out of County Cricket early in his career for International and Woakes played more then perhaps Woakes could have better figures while also not being as good a player.
 
8 for 5 at one stage. Reminds me of a game v the saffers last summer in an odi at lord's iirc

Did well to get up to what they did. Nice to see the Aussies have to struggle to get there.

Never mind 4-1 will have to do, hopefully
