How quick is he bowling now? He was up in the mid 80s for some balls in the under 19s a couple of years ago (I think it was a couple of years ago, anyway). Looked good back then, along with Mason Crane.Be excited about him.
I'm not sure about him being ready for international cricket yet, but I promise you, you'll love him in time. One of THE best players in cricket ATM. He's quality. Give him time, he'll be a regular in the Test side.
Those who regularly read my posts will know I'm as pesemistic as your regular DCCC/SAFC fan, but this lad is special. Trust me.
Delighted for Sammy.
Actually, I can't stop smiling at this. He deserves it.
He's got the same battling qualities as Tom. I know he didn't exactly blow Aussie away in the Ashes (and again, those who've read my posts will know I've always said Tom's a white ball cricketer while Sam has the ability to play both), but most were impressed by Toms "in yer face" aggression - Sam has that, too.
He can also more than hold a bat - he scored a 98 last season, and I've never heard a more collective grown of depression and genuine sadness at The Oval than when Sammy got out.
Be patient with him - you'll love him as much as I do. Trust me.
Still mid 80s mate, but he's got a flat action now so hes a lot skiddier, too.How quick is he bowling now? He was up in the mid 80s for some balls in the under 19s a couple of years ago (I think it was a couple of years ago, anyway). Looked good back then, along with Mason Crane.
