Massive difference between our thinking between the limited overs and the tests. In the limited over stuff we are just so confident and clear in what we are trying to do.
Agree with the first two, albeit both have had chances and have a lot to prove. But we have an excellent keeper at the moment
I agree but I think we should give the gloves to Buttler and let Bairstow concentrate on his batting. I understand the arguments against this but I would give it a go as we are hardly overflowing with batsmen at the moment.

Which ones?

I've said since August that Hales and Buttler should be in the test team. Hales 3, 4 or 5, would like Root at 3. Buttler keeping with Bairstow batting at 4 or 5.

We had hardly any match changers / winners in the Ashes squad. They only need to come off a couple of times in 10 innings to change or win a game.

Wood obviously too but barring injury he would have surely gone. Rashid would have came in for the out of form Ali too.

Fair enough

Bairstow has said many times that he prefers keeping and he thinks it improves his batting

Is it one of those cancer or breast cancer awareness days or has Mark Nicholas just decided to wear that jacket?

Is that definitely true though? Or is he just saying that as it is the safer way to stay in the team. Aye, I'm a cynical bastard.

I just think it's worth a try.

Wood, Rashid and Buttler. I know he doesn't play much red ball cricket but imo he's got the ability to play test match cricket.
Let's be honest they couldn't do much worse. The pitiful test team were bullied from start to finish. The likes of Buttler, Wood and Plunkett won't ever be bullied and for me that counts for a lot regardless of the format
