Big cats roaming in the north east

Im not talking lions or tigers but a few years ago me and my mate were cycling down castle Eden walkway in the dark and saw eyes up ahead, we stopped and in our lights we could see a black big cat , bigger than a dog. True story but nee fucker believes us

Around 15 years ago there had been a load of sightings around Durham of a big cat roaming around. I lived out in Rowley past Consett at the time and was one of the many reasons I came back to live in Sunderland  I had to walk home to Rowley from Lanchester one night too, absolute pitch black it was.

I'm fairly sure I got stalked by a leopard once.

I was in Kenya, me and my mate took a short cut after a few pints and we could hear something moving in the trees next to us.
We got to the compound we were going to, the dogs started barking and the owner came out with his shotgun. He'd heard the dogs and presumed it was "the leopards coming to drink it of the swimming pool again". We hadn't even given it a thought about the animals and stuff over there.

Are you sure it wasn't a cat burglar

Think of all the animals you've ever heard about
Like rhinoceroses and tigers, cats and mink
There are lots of funny animals in all this world
But have you ever seen a panther that is pink?

Think!

A panther that is positively pink,

Well here he is, the pink panther,
The rinky-dink panther,
Isn't he a panther ever so pink?

He really is a groovy cat,
And what a gentleman, a scholar, what an acrobat!

I live on Bodmin Moor and there’s quite a history of big cat stories in these parts.
I was out stalking a few months ago and saw a big black cat in the trees. I stopped me in my track about 100-130 mtrs away and I was sure it was something special. I stood and watched it for a few minutes when it got up and walked towards some sheep and when it got close and it then had something to compare it’s size too it was just a big black moggy. The neighbours farm cat that was probably eating rare song birds
