Elite Dangerous

I sold all the weapons I bought on my python, and have stripped everything out. It’s chock full of passenger cabins like @ShoutyBearHead said.

I’m busy in Upsilion running about, repping up. Starting to see 40m+ Passenger missions pop up to smeaton orbital, just need to finish with all the factions. Will probably take the asp out and get some explorer data to finish up.

Tell you what mind, loving the python. You can proper throw it about, very responsive.

Going to combat outfit one up, bet it’s class
I've heard of people having more than one python for different jobs, it's a very versatile ship.

I ended up spending about £120m jazzing it up and its impressive for a passenger ship/fighter.

Best of all I got to keep the Orca which has made repping a lot easier

Handing in exploration data to the teabaggers is a cinch compared with spamming data deliveries.

Not looking forward to the other factions mind!

How do I get engineers and what do they do?
You're in for a world of pain my friend!

Think I'll step up to the Keelback today, do a few passenger runs. Brani to Ross 754 is profitable but boring. I feel like seeing a few new places.

I assume there's no point stepping into open until I look a bit more imposing.

Have a look in your messages, or the bookmarks on the galaxy map, it will show you what engineers you have been invited to. You haven't been on that long, so you'll probably only have Felicity Farseer, who can upgrade your FSD.

To use engineers, you use data or materials that you've collected (different from cargo) and you generally have to provide stuff for engineers before they will work with you. @Slippery Jim posted something about the engineers requirements a while back... its here

And using this: http://collector-drone.one/#/library/materials shows where best to find mats/data. Click on the little arrows next to each one and it will tell you. @The Exile

Ah so they don't join your crew as such, they upgrade stuff. Ta :)

Bloody hell it's complicated.
Each Engineer is based on their own planetary lab. You take the mats/data they need to do a mod to each different module which they specialise in.

You start at modification grade 1 (G1) and the more times you get them to work on a mod the higher the grade you have access to until you get to G5.

Some Engineers will accept thing such as exploration data to increase the grade you have access to as well but handing that over doesn't allow you to do a roll for a mod - you still need the mats/data to do that.

I should also add that if you need an element as a mat (Arsenic, Zirconium etc) then check the news bulletins when you are at the Engineers' labs and one of them will list all the nearby planets which have high concentrations of the elements used by that particular Engineer.

Depends how far out you go mate. There's more undiscovered stuff further out. I didn't tag my first undiscovered planet until last month.

Sure I've read somewhere that there's only been about 2% of the entire galaxy in ED has been discovered....
I assumed everyone had discovered everything so that was class

It was during a very short expedition because I'd forgotten my detailed surface scanner

Filled up me Python with refugees, got a message from some slavers and said no. Now there's two sets of them chasing me on the way to Smeaton. Time to test the Passenger Fighter build

Well I got giddy making some real bank for a change and bought mesel an Anaconda

Still high, I decided to fly it to Ray's Gateway without a fuel scoop

But this is what I like about this game. With my fuel lower than Jozy Altidore's goals per game, I found a mining colony built inside an asteroid, absolutely class and all because of a daft mistake

Class. Welcome to the club.

Military grade Hull, and overcharged huge multicannon. Turreted lasers on the rest.

Watch things around you melt and crumble

All done!

The asteroid bases are really cool. This is the first one I ever found:

Well I'm not quite there yet

250m build after adding 7A power plant and thrusters :D

Getting a Conda was one reason why I started again. Three years ago I tried to play it like the original elite, got frustrated then sacked it off.

Thanks to this thread and the 60% off steam deal, I've given it another chance and this time I'm hooked.

I was thinking how much I have to learn then checked how long I've played this time around. Nigh on 200 hours

I'm over 2500 hours.

Guess what I'm having to do again even though I bloody hate it!
