Carillion sells contracts.

I got out of it a few year ago tbh mate,I've got my own bathroom supply and fit company.I'm doing well at present, but fuck me money like that is obscene.:)
They wont get the benefit of being able to smell the customers dirty knickers though pal, to you, thats worth more than £6k a week!

They were buying competitors just to increase turnover according to some.

Bought another FM company I worked for around 5 years ago, it was a going concern but turnover was far from big, mainly concentrated on community type services. Pretty sure they handed back most of the contracts a year or two ago, total waste of money in that respect.

Carillion going the journey will be a boost for the other companies though?

Only if the rest of us realise, as a result of this fiasco, that we can't keep bidding work on pencil thin margins.

I have nothing to back that up other than industry talk. I work for another FM company and needless to say the whole industry is watching what happens with Carillion.

Years of bidding contracts with minuscule margins or no margin at all have finally come to a head.

Indeed, have witnessed close hand dubious last minute price reduction on contracts and the disaster that ensures when operating said contracts. Safe to say carillon are not the only FM company with this approach / mindset. However carillon probably have the advantage they operate loads of gov contracts which might mean a bail out

It's working out around 20% air socks, 20% plastic, 60% normal galv. There's bucket loads of it with extremely strict deadlines. I'm not a duct fitter, I just work with all the subbies (pipe/duct/sparks) providing a separate service.

Got plenty of graft on? I can point you in the direction of 3 staggered North East projects from mid-Feb which will take up the rest of 2018. All 3 projects are roughly £9m M&E
This is like networking RTG style
