Anyone on here live (or lived) in York?? advice needed



Don't eat in the Golden Fleece. I once had a Sunday dinner there for about £12 and it was crap.
Some nice pubs in York mind and some shit ones. Lots of overpriced ones and some cosy ones

Actually, even though i really like York it's definitely got a shit side.For a kick off that Stone Roses bar is shite and there's an element in York who seem obsessed with Mancs which is well weird!
Also, I once wasn't allowed in Yates cos I was on my own or something! Fcking cheeky bouncers. I was practically laughing at them saying "But you're Yates man!"
Really hate it when shitholes suddenly have rules about who can get in at night when they're happy to let any fucker in during the day :lol:

I had one of the worst hours of my life in there, which failed to improve by relocating to Flares :lol:

TBH I like to just have a wander round York there’s loads of different types of pubs if you have a bit of an explore.

I used to like Mama Mia’s on Gillygate for food. Not been in for a while but again there’s loads of places if you just have a nosey about.
 
Just to on anywhere that doesn't look like a chain bar and you'll not go far wrong.

Pivni is very good, as is trembling madness
 
Barbikan on walmgate is great for scran, few other places down that way as well but book in advance, crawl back up to main town lots of nice bars. Brew York is worth a look nearby, brewery owned by mag and a smog, good lads though.slightly further out Rook and gaskill, great cheap beer, phoenix, lovely pub.
 
Went to York on a stag, watched us get beat 3-0 off Swansea then couldn't get in anywhere until we split into twos and threes, which was proper shit so we got the 6pm (dry) train back to Sunderland and finished up here.

The day out still lasted longer than my mate's marriage.
