Sending your child to London

Not on overnight school trips without their parents certainly not in this current day.

If you let your kid go & they got stabbed & died could you live with yourself?

Answer the question.
It could happen anywhere.
I understand the risk with kids going away on trips but think you are over reacting.
Anyway, you do what you think is right for your own kids.
That's one privilege the terrorists can't take away.

No from me. Not at that age. London is an awful place. I'm not adverse to my child going away for a couple of days with the school as i think independence is a great thing, but London is a horrible place and i cant think of anywhere worse in the country they could go.

London is class.. You are going to wrong places.

What’s awful about it?

I go there regularly with work and spend a fair bit of time down there (Kings Cross / Euston) area. It's completely run down with rubbish and litter everywhere, homeless and drunk/derelict people every 10 yards. The tube is crazy busy and dated with ignorant arseholes charging around barging people out of the way everywhere they go. There's a real danger of being mugged, assaulted, robbed or ran over on the streets. Other than that it's fine. In my opinion t's no place for a 10 year old from 300 miles away to go without their parents, but i understand that's just my opinion and that others (as this thread has shown) will have no problems sending their kids. I wouldn't try to change your mind and you wont change mine.

First time this week. Four last week though, it's becoming a real inconvenience.
Thoughts with you mate.
Your out of touch with reality.
really? I can only assume you’re on a whoosh....you don’t get off the train and instantly have to avoid knives been thrown at you and as far as I’m aware there’s not that many heads on pikes in the streets these days.

I was happy for her to go and have paid the deposit. It's now been cancelled as not enough children want to go in case they get blown up by terrorists.

The nipper (6yo) went earlier this year for a day trip with school (we’re only 40 miles from London) and the panicking on the parents Facebook group was ridiculous. Several of them intended driving down to London and shadowing the school trip. They were only visiting the Transport Museum.

The missus pointed out that they were being stupid and the bairns were more likely to come a cropper on the coach ride there down the M1 than get blown up. That didn’t really help.

Muslim extremists target London the most.
Just because things have died down lately it doesn't mean it won't happen again soon.
The parents who stopped this from happening did the correct thing.

Nowhere worse? Really? Wow

No, they didn’t.

They’re statistically more likely to be killed on the way to school than in a terror attack.

It’s plainly ridiculous what you’re saying.

Thats different mind. I thought you were fuming at the school for late notice or excessive fees etc but thats just shite form from some ridiculous parents. Yes you do worry about stuff like that being a possibility but you certainly don`t warp a bairns mind because of it, or equally or more importantly you don`t stifle a bairns chances to learn and experience because of it
