Surely Bayliss’ position is untenable?

- just lost 4-0 in the Ashes
- limped past a woeful West Indies side
- lost more tests than he has won
- lost 9 of the last 11 overseas tests
- test ranking of 5th
- improved the short form stuff but still 4th in ODI rankings and 4th in T20 rankings
- admits he doesn’t watch County cricket
- had zero plan for Australia. Hussain had it spot on when he said Curran (at 80mph) was an abysmal selection
- the culture is one of piss ups

We are dreadful and he needs sacking

Not untenable but the cracks are appearing. I see Farbrace is being linked with county head coach jobs so he probably sees the future with this England management set up does not have many prospects.

Paul Collingwood was lined up for it in reports are true.
Nailed on I would have thought, but is he joining a sinking ship in terms of this management structure. It might not happen straight away but I can't believe there is not going to be major casualties on and off the field after this latest Ashes debacle.

If we are shite in the ODI'S, which is likely without Stokes and the Aussie quicks fit and firing he's got to go.

If we do well you can make a case for him to stay as he has sorted out our limited over cricket to a large extent.

Negative bastard.

I agree like.

Nooooooo. That'd be DCCC fucked.

Currently think he's shite. Should've offered it to Gillespie.

Should already be gone but if we lose the one day stuff and struggle in NZ as I expect I don't see how they can keep him on. I'd cut all ties personally, his Test record as we know is nothing less than shite, and I don't think we need him for the one day stuff now either. That team is now well set in terms of playing style and personnel. Whether it's enough to win the world cup remains to be seen but I don't think Bayliss being there or not will be the difference either way.

He has not just improved the one day side,he has totally transformed it, the whole culture the way we approach it has changed since he took over.

When people talk about this "revelation" of the One Day side, let's not forget that Farbrace started the wheels in motion - the NZ series was where we started posting 400+ regularly, and that was under PF.

Ye, I remember it was the NZ series when it all started but couldn't remember if Bayliss had joined the party for the one-dayers.

Indeed.

I'd also add too, that the 'revelation' was the fact that we started playing in a way that all other countries had embraced about four years previous. The World Cup was the straw that broke the camels back - where our best and brightest lights (Stokes to name one) was left at home.

All Farbrace did, was pick the players the fans were crying out for. He definitely deserves credit for giving them a freedom and for allowing lads to express themselves and have fun overall - but in terms of production, I argue neither Bayliss or Farbrace can take full credit.
