Canny morning.

Root now has same total runs as Cook for the series and is 7 behind Malan. Could this be the day he gets his hundred?

New ball not far off mind.

I actually think the ECB have handled this perfectly.

It’s not their fault he got pissed up and smacked someone at 2am
Dunno how the mixed signals of putting him in the squad then sending him home, or denying him his England place but letting him play next door in NZ (or IPL), could be considered perfect handling like.

Perfect handling would be a proportional punishment for being out on the piss on a school night, and leaving everything else to the CPS.

Haway Jimmy lad, 142 to go.

Thank God that's over. Despite battling a serious case of the shits before having to retire, Rooty still gets more than the rest of the top order added together. That says it all. f***ing cowards.

Has to be one of the worst away Ashes performances ever surely?

I know the last time was 5-0 but Johnson was on fire and unplayable then.

Root got his 50 then I see  Just kidding, he shouldn’t have even came out, fair play to him. Pathetic from England after winning the toss and being 227/3 after 80 overs on the first day.

Psychologically beaten by the two quick wickets before close on day one. Has there ever been such a mentally soft test team?

Vaughan what a complete lick arse twat.

Well in Boycott, said what were all thinking.

The likes of jimmy should be asking the questions of what the board plans to do about our abysmal test team and set up.

Good old Boycs, spot on.

England trotting out a load of shite sound bites that mean fuck all. They've made off field mistake after mistake on this tour, from selection, to preparation, to reselection, to choosing to bowl instead of batting etc etc.

That's before you talk about the players poor performances.

similar series.. we were played off the park, trott went home early doors and then swann fucked off. they didn't have a great team and the only time we won the toss we elected the field and they scored twice as many runs as us in the first dig.

after 2010/2011 i really thought we'd worked out how to play here but alas that was not to be and we reverted back to type. this tour has just confirmed that. i expect more of the same in 4 years.
