He'd probably get a good kicking

Possibly one of the only things which would make me give up my season ticket

thats the hypocrisy piece mate, i dont think he would. most people havent got the balls to take on a dealer but they will gan on paedo hunter pages ganning acka over people like AJ.

Easy answer that if your living next to AJ be a canny house. If living next to a smack dealer be in Byker

fair point

Unbelievable that anyone could even contemplate having that child molester play for our club again.

Those who want him back, would it be ok if it was your daughter he was fiddling with?

Because some people don't see dealing as a bigger crime than sex offending.

Most dealers will just knock out coke and weed

Because once you have served your sentence I can not see where the jurisdiction is for anyone to prevent you continuing your trade.

I think the most likely outcome will be that he signs for a French side (and there have been plenty of French players who have been nipping back over to France having sex with 15 years old within the law in recent times) or he will go to China. Either way, nobody in those countries will care about it.

he will have to abide by the sex offenders register. that means the clubs can be informed of the offence and therefore restrictions placed on him. he will be on a release license set by the probation service. when his license expires there is less control over him as it boils down to just the sex offender regulations.
The club will then become liable to ensuring he will never be alone with under 18's. That may be something that is not possible in this country as a 17 year old or 16 year old may be in the team and literally the club may have to employ a mentor for AJ to be with him all the time.
This may be too much, so I really do suspect he will go abroad

if Cisse had bucked your lass, would you kicking off on here expecting the club to sell him?

i think you will find 99% of sunderland fans, if not more, certainly dont want him anywhere near our club.

you will probably find a minute percentage of lower league clubs (which is what we practically are) will have fans who would welcome him

that's not the only issue. the clubs themselves will have to set up safeguards re children under 18 and can they afford to do that or have the ability to do it

I would be amazed if other current top-flight footballers haven't breathed a sigh of relief for not getting caught themselves after seeing what happened to Adam Johnson.

wasn't there a clip circulating of a footballer standing behind a young girl mascot and was rubbing her front. it was disgusting, but ive never heard anything of him being prosecuted.

Haven't read the whole thread but it seems we're off on a Harry Hill style tangent of nonces vs drug dealers.

I've got lots of friends that have given me loads of drugs but thankfully not one of them has ever fisted me while sleeping.

He could be released in March 2019, at that time he would be 31. If he played again he would likely not do that until the following season whereby he would be 32 years old.

Also keep in mind that if you are released from prison you can't just travel abroad to wherever you want, there are restrictions in place. Some by the UK government and some by other countries.

If he is released on license then he likely cannot go anywhere. Its pretty standard terms of license that you can't leave the country.

Then he will almost certainly need to regularly check in with a probation team on a weekly basis for the first 12 months of release.

If you have been released having served a sentence for a sexual offence then it is even harder to leave the country due to restrictions put in place. These restrictions are scaled down over time, but he doesn't have that time if he wants to play football.

I am very confident that he will never kick a ball professionally again.

IIRC

His probation license will expire when he comes up to exactly half of his sentence. ie 3 years. (unless the judge gave an extended license period on sentencing). Once probation license expires it the rules of the sex offender register that he has to apply to. he can travel abroad (if the other country will allow him, which may differ as we wont be part of the eu). the rules are as long as he informs the police 24 hours before travel of where he is going, whats he doing.

unfortunately it is probably correct though.

should be a world wide law that sexual contact by adults with children under 16 is illegal. problem is getting the mindset of the men to change from thinking that sex with a 12 year old is ok.

Age of consent in Mexico is 12 :eek::eek:

it was a reasonable discussion actually, you are the one who seems to be trivialising harmful crimes.

I wouldnt have him back nor would the club. However, the hypocrisy is that its pretty common knowledge and not disputed that the likes of David Bowie and Jimmy Page did worse than Johnson and they are idolised.
Bill Wyman too, allegedly.
