Magners

Is Magners and Bulmers the same?
NO.
This is complicated.

What we call Magners is actually Irish Bulmers.

The name Bulmers was sold to a UK company ages ago, and when the cider over ice thing kicked in 10 years ago, the company who owned the rights to Bulmers AND the company who made real Bulmers both pushed products in the UK - but real Bulmers was given the name Magners

Confused yet?

Ironically, I've always preferred UK Bulmers to Irish Bulmers/Magners

Dunno if this is true but I was told the magners with ice was started because the bottles were too big to stand up in a typical bar fridge.

Was in a few "gin bars" on NYE. Baffling tbh, how can there be so many gins?

It is piss easy to make, by any chance?

Visited a gin factory in Mahon a few years ago . From what I recall think its relatively easy but I could be wrong . There was dozens of different flavours on the sampling tables :)

It'll be cider, but it wouldn't be very nice. Not after a month. Give it 3-6 and it might be though.
I tasted it the other day and it was very harsh so I will just keep it in the cupboard under the stairs for a few more weeks. I have an IPA to make also but I want a pressure barrel for that!

If anyone is up in Edinburgh looking for something to do for a couple of hours I can highly recommend a Pickerings Gin distillery tour. Great value for tenner and plenty of gin to taste whilst there.
